I remember hearing how Domi can easily replace what Marner brings.
We don't know what Marner will get, but it's going to come down to his relative quality and overall impact, not his playstyle. Why will Matthews get more pesos then Marner
He is though. There's really no argument otherwise. There is no goal total or playstyle criteria to be paid like that. Playmaking is valuable, whether you want to admit it or not, and plenty of playmakers have made the equivalent and more without hitting 40 goals. That’s because he’s not a 12M dollar player.
He does generate himself. There's more to generating goals than who last touched the puck.I would prefer a player who can generate himself.
That’s because he’s not a 12M dollar player. He can’t score at a high enough rate. He needs other players to score for him. I would prefer a player who can generate himself.. as would most.
You know Marner since hes in the NHal producing goal at the same rate g/game than Stone, Larkin, Meier, miller, hyman, pavelski,
higher rate than Svechnikov, strutzle, keller, konecny, oreilly, kopitar, hischier, gaudreau

Which player MacKinnon or Marner would you rather be paying $12.6 mil AAV based on being a TRUE playoff performer?

Only a select few Leaf Fans believe the Leafs are getting similar Return on Investment that they would pay Marner what MacKinnon makes.
During the Esmonton Broadcast Ron Maclean indicated revenue has bee. Better than expected and the cap is set to jump alot in a couple years. Apparently the players association was goinf to discuss potentially splitting the increase and having next years increase even more rhan expected.PLAYOFFS

Even if he was, I’d still want a discount, similar to what the sunshine tax free states do. You want to play for your hometown, give us a bit of a break. That’s because he’s not a 12M dollar player. He can’t score at a high enough rate. He needs other players to score for him. I would prefer a player who can generate himself.. as would most.
Doing damage on the PP which now has a pulse, 3 on 3 and 6 on 4/5. There was a time when JT was being ripped for his 5 vs 5 production. Good Times.@ToneDog dont listen to this poster. The only people who dont care are the Marner Only Fans.
1 5v5 shot in 6 games is abysmal.
Marner was terrible until he was put on Tavares wing.. Tavares looks excellent this year and has been good with everyone he's played with.
Yup I heard that report about a rather large jump in the Cap ceiling potential based on NHLPA deciding to make a larger jump than the $4-5 currently projected.During the Edmonton Broadcast Ron Maclean indicated revenue has bee. Better than expected and the cap is set to jump alot in a couple years. Apparently the players association was going to discuss potentially splitting the increase and having next years increase even more than expected.
This news could certainly move Marners wants to 12 million or more.
Agreed. I though the same, however, I also had the thought that Marner and agents demands just went up.Yup I heard that report about a rather large jump in the Cap ceiling potential based on NHLPA deciding to make a larger jump than the $4-5 currently projected.
I instantly thought Marner will be re-signed now for sure, regardless if that contract brings poor return on investment, with limited contribution and disappointing playoff results.
Yep. Marner Fans jumping up and down about his points but fail to give Tavares and Mcmann cresit for their incredible play on the 5v5 goal.Doing damage on the PP which now has a pulse, 3 on 3 and 6 on 4/5. There was a time when JT was being ripped for his 5 vs 5 production. Good Times.
if not, what makes St Matthew of Phoenix worth 13.4Is he worth 12M? No.
I heard a very possible105m by 25/26Yup I heard that report about a rather large jump in the Cap ceiling potential based on NHLPA deciding to make a larger jump than the $4-5 currently projected.

On Saturday night’s Headlines segment on Hockey Night in Canada, Elliotte Friedman said that salary cap could have a larger than estimated jump. The Sportsnet insider said that cap could leap as high as $95 million to $97 million for next season. The raise to $95 million to $97 million would mean a jump of eight to 10.2-percent over the current number. Friedman mentioned the limit on raising the cap number were “guardrails” put in place from the last CBA during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the NHL seems to be doing good business at the moment.
Oh I am so looking forward to the Mathews Domi line, we will be getting another 100 point guy. Out of nothing at all.I remember hearing how Domi can easily replace what Marner brings.
Kyper keeps suggesting they give Marner a shot at C. Domi clearly is better winger than a C but with Matty out, they play him at C and not Marner or Nylander.Oh I am so looking forward to the Mathews Domi line, we will be getting another 100 point guy. Out of nothing at all.
Probably because he does so well as a winger. The old don’t mess with something that works, however having said that I too would like to see Mitch play center for awhile.Kyper keeps suggesting they give Marner a shot at C. Offensively playing with Matthews it would be close.I remember hearing how Domi can easily replace what Marner brings.
Lol... Marner is only producing on PPs and 3v3s.I remember hearing how Domi can easily replace what Marner brings.
