Tries half the time Nylander has 2 more points at 5 on 5, and 3rd line only player JT has 1 more 5 on 5 point than amazing Marner.

Why is it amusing? Ive long said Marner rides the coat tails of Matthews strong 5v5 game and Matthews suffers from Marners weak 5v5 play. Which ive backed up with stats. While certain posters have disagreed strongly to my opinion.
This is a good time to discuss, since it is a rare glimpse of Marner without Matthews and a chunk of time without Tavares too.
With Matthews injured, Marner has:
0 5v5 shots in 4/5 games.
0 5v5 points in all 5 games.

How many grade A's do guys miss too though? I appreciate his playmaking, for me he's the best I've ever seen in a Leafs uniform and I enjoy it. To each his own bro.

No he wasn't. Knies was the best player tonight.
I wouldn't care if we didnt have the cap. But since we do, we have to have these dumb discussions, because in this environment every dollar matters and we already have a few overpayments on the team.
Today he got a goal on a 6 vs 4 and an assist on a 3vs3 clearing attempt.
Two of his three 5v5 assists this year were clears from his own zone or a dump in.
His assist on the Nylander pp goal the other game was a pass that deflected high in the air and Nylander picked up off the boards and banked in off a player.
He has an assist on a face-off play, where Matthews literally said he was gonna win the puck forward and told Marner and Knies to go to the net.
... quite literally points for playing with elite linemates.
How many years are we gonna hear this excuse in the season and playoffs?
They aren't grade As.. additionally, he's very predictable. He's not a shooting threat whatsoever, he's rarely even squared to the net. Goalies can read his passes.

He had a good 3rd and ot, 5 periods before that weren’t his best.
Came through when it counted though.
Agreed with the last two games. That 2nd period was brutal for him.
I mean he came into the league playing with our old first line minus kessel so there’s that then he played with kadri and Tavares then Matthews nobody really gets there without great players not just him
That ladies and gentlemen is exactly what you want to see out of your best players when your generational goal scorer and leader goes down
They have all stepped up and Marner is no exception, he's playing like a star
