Since it was brought up -- Panthers had 5 players who out pointed the Flyers best this year. One of them was a defenseman, to boot.

Not as hard to play against as the Flyers, though.

A right shot defenseman from Buffalo that was traded for a third a few months before we traded Ghost, Hagg, 13th overall, a 2nd, a 7th, etc. for our own right shot defenseman from Buffalo. But just wait until Risto finally gets some playoff action!

Watching their dreams getting crushed by Florida after getting their hopes up and believing they finally beat the curse may be even better than another first round exit.
Hope that you’re right but it isn’t over until it’s over. Florida in six?
Wonder how Peter Laviolette feels about Bob’s PO play now?

I wouldn’t write this series off just yet. Bob’s saved 5.92 above expected. Samsonov’s at -1.68.

How on earth are they seeing suspension there? Knies badly missed the hit and then it was just unfortunate stuff. Jesus.

Was it Foligno last series that also hurt his face trying to blow someone up and eating the inside of an arm? Same crap, players have a right to dodge and you deal with the consequences of physics.

I think the hilarious part of that one was Foligno getting called for tripping.

I'd like to point out this move is no longer a mistake because Risto played like an average dman once. Fletcher is down to zero mistakes.

He wanted players to focus on the game and their next shift, not get distracted by looking at their last shift. I think with a veteran team it wouldn't matter to him, but he wants the kids to keep their head in the game.
It was all based around TK..... the one guy who was actually scoring goals. Stop making stuff up

Guy who said that is the same guy who’s ran down Florida’s GM every chance he’s gotten the last year+ as a defense mechanism for Chuck Fletcher.
No. I merely pointed out that Zito made even worse "win now" moves, probably under pressure from ownership. The trades for Chariot and Giroux turned out to be a disaster, cost them (2) 1st, 3rd, 4th and a 23 year forward who scored 27 goals. All to get swept by TB.

I wonder if that led to changes in ownership attitude - maybe we should be more patient. Because the Tkachuk trade was the polar opposite, trading players who could help you win now for a better player who can help you more in the future.

Which is why I rail against the "win now" attitude, most teams who try to force the issue end up taking steps backward.

Zito's moves last year are amply cancelled out by all the obviously good moves he made. Fletcher didn't make a single clearly good move.

There is no equivalence between them. Zito and Sakic are not comparable to Fletcher. Fletcher is comparable to Milbury. That's his peer.

Gee, the guy who put together the President's Trophy winning team and one of the better teams over the last few years made "worse win now" moves than the guy who was given a "win now" mandate and managed to have a bottom ten team for multiple years.

Pretty much the same people in pretty much the same circumstances, IMO.

Lets see how long it will take for a guy who only made one mistake to get another job.
