Buffalo’s Skinner got three games for cross checking Pittsburgh’s Guenzel . Guentzel started the mess by buzzing the Sabres’ goalie after time expired. Someday, someone is going to ring Guentzel’s bell for him. He’s a sneaky shit on the ice; usually with his stick. Of course being a Penguin, it rarely if ever gets called.

A lot of these jerseys have kicked ass, besides the Flyers abominations, and it makes the league more fun. Never seen someone not like MORE jerseys, let alone getting hot and bothered over it.
Im not even saying this to be a hater, but the Flyers probably have the worst of the bunch. Its Chuck Fletcher in jersey form.
Florida's is the worst and I'll fight you both at the same time.

And we are stuck watching Fletcher and Flahr and Tortorella trying to bring back 2012.

All that offensive pressure? The effective dman activation? That requires putting pucks away from the boards. And not a single person running the Flyers can ponder that without having their brains flash-boil.

It's also the most disappointing/frustrating thing about Hakstol. Back when he was hired, he talked about doing this stuff. He talked a big game that spelled out what would really blatantly be a huge step forward and a great means of shattering the defensive side of the game as it existed then. I was very excited for it. But then when it came time to execute the Big Talk, he did just about the exact opposite of what he preached. Even while having the appropriate talent to make it happen! In fact, that was the kind of player he wanted the least.

If people managing the Flyers had discovered germs in the 19th century, they'd have addressed that issue by coating their hands in feces before performing surgery instead of following through on the clear obvious path.
Is it possible that our players are so.far behind in tactical training that they cant work in other Systems if they are traded. Or other Teams ask exactly that question before they would trade for our players. Especially the dman? Would Carolina or Toronto trade for Provorov. Is he able to learn modern Systems after he was with all the bad coaches in his career.

Could affect the trade value on our players if that is the case

You're right about him and his 20-21 stats which is why the 21-22 breakout isnt all that surprising (ya boy looked like a genius for it in fantasy). What is crazy though is I was off him this year because I figured he was slightly overvalued, but he just went out and started scoring more. It isn't sh% based either, he's mostly getting more chances
I cant understand all the "experts" in hockey are soooo suprised NJ is coming along. They grow as a team for years. They add talent with system not with brainfarts. The youth is developing further. Its just a organic growing team and its nothing suprising at all.

But they are soooo young and soooo skilled based. They cant win ever. Thats what hockey experts think

By the metrics they were about middle of the pack overall. They were pretty good offensively, defensively they were average to below average. The goaltending was horrendous though. If they got even below average goaltending opposed to league worse they probably make the playoffs last year. So perhaps then the conventional thought process would have been more so in line with their potential if they made the playoffs.

But this year they’re top ten in every metric even including goaltending. Beyond their young core just getting another year older & more mature (Hughes also missed half of the end of the year essentially last year).

The Marino trade was an underrated savvy move to help the defensive side. He’s legitimately been one for the better defensive defensemen since he entered the league but he sagged in Pittsburgh recently. But he’s rebounded in New Jersey to be that guy again. They gave up Ty Smith who’s headed forwards bust & a third round pick for a top four legitimate higher end defensive defensemen in his prime in Marino. Seigenthaler a few years before they picked up for a third rounder now he’s turned into a legitimate defensive defensemen as well currently in the prime of his career as well. Both of these guys are modern day effective defensive defensemen & they paid practically nothing for them in the peaks of their careers where they’re most cost effective. Moves like that are how you win in today’s league & legitimately build around your talented drafted core.
