2nd star 2 the right
I might as well steal this from our GDT:

Couts positioning caused Talbot to pass it right to Voracek instead of around the boards.
Couts also had 6 of the 31 shots...19% of the team's totals.
Couts also had 4 of the 21 hits...19% of the team's totals.
Also had an assist and was +2.....on the only 2 ES goals we scored on the night.
And 50% in FO.

How anyone could watch Schenn and Couts the last few years and want Schenn, is beyond me. Oh wait, we did a poll where the masses had their say....and Schenn got stomped!

I also think the second goal he helped on as the goalie was deep in the net looking to go pipe to pipe to stop the pass from weal to Coots. Weal saw the five hole and caught the goalie guessing. the last goal he beat burns to the puck to play it out of the zone and simonds cashed in there are count less other sutle plays he does like this to create space and doesnt always registrar a point

Interestingly both hat tricks by McDavid & Simmonds last night were the first time in team history for both clubs that a player scored a hat trick in an opening game.

If you told me beforehand I would have figured that not be the case given the team’s history back in the day.

Flyers and Oilers will meet in the Finals this year.

It's been decided.

Coots was stellar last night. The only negative was not burying that chance in tight.

I'm always harsh about Couts offensive side of the game, so I took him late in my hockey draft to help be less negative lol

I've never been critical of his game. He has flaws, most notably in his skating and hands, but he is a fantastic hockey player nonetheless. The fact is he's been putting up 40ish points a year with garbage line mates and heavy D-zone starts along with slim PP minutes. Not many players can do that.

Oh i always thought he was a real good hockey player don't get me wrong, just never got caught up in him having to get points, esp in the years we had lots of scoring.

Little Caesers Arena....horrible corporate branded arena and horrible FAKE PIZZA. Sounds like Trump branded it.....

I wish the corporate branding would end...used to be more civic when sports arenas honored true citizens..like Veterans and Soldiers etc...

Nothing is sacred anymore....:thumbd:

Honestly I’m fine paying $10-12 for a quality pie from a regular pizza shop. Even if I want to go cheap I can find some decent places that are like $8 a pie & taste a hell of a lot better than chain pizza.
I don't understand how people eat chain pizza either....although there are some regular pizza shops that serve garbage too. I take my pizza seriously...especially when I run the risk of crapping my brains out..

Don't know the last time I've had chain pizza, and I have no wish to see that streak broken.

There was a Pizza Hut in the area I lived that was closed because someone put feces in the pizza. I was surprised to say the least. I thought all pizza chains did that.

Pizza is overrated.

Fight me.

Bet you get it from some garbage place and put terrible toppings on it so you force yourself to hate it. Pizza is your food version of Jordan Weal, isn't it?

If live on the East Coast then Little Caesar's should taste like trash people actually know how to make pizza here.

In the South and parts of the West not so much.

There are a lot of empty seats at Little Caesers Arena it seems? What gives? Did they give out free pizza and people had to leave for a bathroom emergency?
