The constant glazing by Marek, Friedman and others about Deslauriers’ mere presence in the players box during the playoffs somehow allowing the Canes’ balls to drop and play tougher was nauseating. Just as nauseating as some here glazing the Canes and trying to pass it off as a good move by the Canes. Let’s just call it for what it is. Even the best run teams in the league fall into the hockey guy trap of saying you need these plugs around to embolden your team. And it’s true that no one will give a shit about it since they just won a cup. In isolation, it’s still dumb move, and it’s OK to say that. Nuance in everything.

If Florida makes the playoffs, they likely run roughshod over the Canes once again even with Deslauriers watching from the box.

Shoutout to this dickhead I saw at the Canes Cup parade.

One of the best parts of the playoffs was the Pens fans giddy with glee at the Canes dominating the Flyers as if Pittsburgh wouldn't have gotten their shit rocked just as hard if they'd moved on.

(I mean, to be fair... we would've reacted the same, of course, lol.)

Florida basically traded Samoskevich for a similar package as when they got Reinhart.

I like Samoskevich, but this is par for the course for Seattle: continually spending assets to not really look like you’re taking any steps. I don’t really think he’s better than a middle 6 guy, even if you project growth as a better one. Bad trade? No. I like it for Florida more. But the Kraken want to build the perpetually best 10th worst team.
