NHL Talk Miscellaneous NHL Discussion CIX: Processing a Tremendous Amount of Insane Information

Florida like the one that is only a few latitudes north of the Tropic of Cancer? They know how weather works right?

Rhetorical
We already had it confirmed that they don’t know how the Sun works so logic says they don’t have much of a grasp on weather either.

At least at Marlins stadium they’ll just close the roof if they need to.

I just want to see a NHL game on an actual pond. Any ponds in Canada? I hear it gets cold up there.

Feels like 25cm of snow here last few days. Shovelling every day.

Minus 30 with minus 40 wind next couple days.

It’s a good excuse to “get close” to the girl to l”save some heat”

For anybody else, this is the goal of their career.

For McDavid, this is Tuesday.
There's a quote from Samuel L Jackson to Leo D about using the N word in Django Unchained. Leo was apprehensive having to say the word to which SLJ responded "mother f***er this just a Tuesday for us". Or so I've read in anecdotes

Ghost is 6th in 5x5 minutes on Carolina.
But he plays 3:52 minutes a game on PP.
Most of his scoring has come on the PP, ES 2-6 8 PP 4-13 17
Necas, Aho, Svechnikov, Jarvis

That's what AV didn't get, don't make him into what he wasn't, a top 4 D-man.
Carolina shelters him at ES and rides him on the PP.

Is a player who can score a ton in a small amount of minutes good? Do we want players like that?

The Trouba situation reminds me a lot of what happened here with Vinny, but Vinny had a NMC so he couldn't be threatened with waivers. Hextall still managed to strongarm him into agreeing to retire with 2 years and $6,000,000 left on his deal.

Reminds me more of what Holmgren did with Gagne. Basically told him to pick between Tampa Bay and Edmonton

We really don't have to pretend that he only does well when sheltered because we have plenty of stats showing he also does well when he's on a top or second pair.

I've said for years that I'd Ghost is on your 3rd pair then you're either a really really good team, or you're really really bad at player evaluation. This remains true

I didn't ask you if we want a PP specialist, I asked if we wanted a player who scores a ton in a small amount of minutes. Which it sounds like you don't?

Guess you would prefer this team tank.
Ghost doesn't score that much at ES, he's a PP specialist.
Would I want a top 4 D-man who scores a lot at ES, yeah, we have one in Sanheim.

No we don't. Arizona doesn't count, it's like saying AMac was a first pair D-man b/c he was on the first pair on a terrible Islanders team.

Ghost has been on the third pair on every other team he played for since leaving Philly.
Or do you think Brind'Amour is stupid?
