Trouba and a pick for Ellis and Nicky Des. Rangers get their cap room and it’s an even wash salary wise for us. Retain 50% on Trouba at the TDL or offseason for another pick or prospect. But Danny won’t.

Have always seen Trouba as a player I would’ve loved to have on my team and hate to play against. Has he fallen off that bad?

Trouba has had one very good season in his whole career and was last what I would call at least league average three years ago. The rep has never matched the on ice unless we were having the discussion in 2016-17.

If teams are lining up to take another year of that at 8 at positive value, fire up the Risto trade machine ideas. He’s a much better player at this point.

Trouba is 30, we already have Risto.
Makes zero sense unless NY pays you to take him off their hands.
And we don't have that much cap room even using Ellis' LTIR money.

Now if the Isles want to dump Nelson, but I'm not giving up real assets.
But it might be nice for some wings to have a veteran center.
