What a good guess.

I also bring you two pieces of bonus content. One, my brilliant and wonderful wife is wearing her Ghost Bear hoodie today. Two:

1) hell yes, Mrs. Jojo

2) HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHHHA TOP PAIR GHOST LETS GO BABY

Giroux 9gp 5g 6a 11pts +1 also 59.4 on FO and excellent ES possession numbers

Tippett 10gp 1g 5a 6pts -8 mediocre possession numbers, also dumb as a rock and has a face that makes children cry

Great trade
I always said Ghost was basically the defensemen version of Giroux, so it's fitting that each of them are so clearly outplaying the dumb empty headed trash that each was traded for.

Giroux vs Tippett
Ghost vs Risto
Intelligence vs Fletcher

We traded 1 month of Giroux in a losing season for Tippett, Barkey and Edmonton's 2025 1st rd pick.

last season
Tippett 78g 28-25 53
Giroux 82g 21-43 64

You forgot that Tippet is also tied to a 8 year, 6.2m anchor.

That trade continues to pay dividends, baby.
Tippett's contract is just fine, with a rising cap, forwards who score 25-30 goals a year will be getting more than that in a couple years. Contracts were suppressed by a flat cap the last three years, look for them to take off the next couple years.

Will we also have shorter years in the future, like just 11 or 10 months or something? So it mitigates this part of the 8x6.2 equation as well?

So a rising cap justifies overpaying someone? Guess the Risto contract also won't look so bad using that rationale.
It won't. If Risto keeps playing like he has since last season, teams will be lining up at the TDL and next summer to take on his 2x5 remaining term.

Chariot was traded for a 1st and 4th at the 2022 TDL, then signed to a 4/$19M contract at age 32, whereas Risto's deal ends at age 32.
Risto has clearly outplayed Chariot.
Physical RHDs garner a premium in both trades and in FA.

No, they will not.
