Anyone knows what's going on with Ovechkin? Is he injured or just snakebitten? Or dare I say he's cooked?

He's been on a decline analytically the last few seasons. This year, his individual impact on xG's has been pretty consistent with previous years, but his 5v5 Sh% is down around 2%. His average is about ~11% throughout his career. That's certainly not likely to continue to be that low.

In years past, he was able to get get good scoring chances consistently. But so far this season his chances haven't been as good, nor have they been as frequent. That also plays into the lower sh% as well.

It's not like he's cooked, but he's been showing signs of decline over the last few years, and this may just be another step towards that direction. We'll see as the season moves forward.

There are just so many empty-net opportunities for a middle-of-the-pack team like Washington.

I'm rooting for decline.

Is Broberg bad?

He’s had some upwards trajectory. I have no idea where he’s at today visually, but I can tell you as a prospect he was all tools and no idea how to process play and use them. Really mediocre passer, but terrific mover at his size. Basically, end to end rush or bust. He needed serious development. You know, your dream top 10 pick (ignore the sarcasm if you’re Keith Jones). Nothing about his arc has surprised me to date.

The first Hughes Bowl (with all three) has been fun to start. Haven't watched the Canucks much this year, but I'm surprised the arena is still showing quite a few empty seats.

Tonight's game is going against the Christine Sinclair send off across the street, though. Could be a factor vs an Eastern Conference opponent.

And just like that, we went from a $4 million bump in the cap to no bump

Nope! Cap is based on revenue. If the league wants to blow money and go into the red with their share that's not the player's problem.

The NHLPA is way too lenient with the help they give owners, but no way they'd let the cap be stagnant because Gary decided to have an expensive party for owners and management.

My Kraken will miss the playoffs prediction is still looking good. Friedman said this, but when I checked the stats they have the 10th worst GA/GP, so a scorer won't fix that.

20. One day we are going to wake up and Seattle Stealth Master Ron Francis is going to pull off something big for a scorer. That’s what the Kraken need. Then again, so does everyone.
