Unfortunate, but from a strictly “let’s avoid as many future problems as possible” perspective, I guess they have to do this.

If you allow players to support causes on their on-broadcast gear (even ones that nobody disagrees with) then you obviously have to either 1) allow literally anything, or 2) put yourself in the position to pick and choose what’s allowed. Obviously the former would never be allowed for a million reasons, but the latter could lead to massive headaches as well.

“You let ___ support ___ so why can’t I support ___”?! Then they throw a fit, the fans who agree with them have a tantrum, and you’re in another stupid PR thing again.

It’s much easier to just say no to everything and avoid problems. I’m surprised they’re still allowed to have custom goalie masks at all.

People are dumb. If everyone could use their brains and behave then this kind of thing wouldn’t happen, but of course that’s not reality.

Gotta idiot-proof everything.
Yeah, its much better that the NHL has boxed themselves into a corner where the players can constantly put the NHL into zugzwang. What is the outcome for the NHL if they decide they are going to fine somebody for supporting Pride, HFC, MAF's thing?

@DancingPanther what's your ELO at these days?

Got my blitz up to 1050. Haven't played rapid in forever but that's 1100. I need to figure out something for black. I usually play the caro but there's so much theory
