Fiala is also better and Dumba plays defense, which is a more important position than wing. Those are important factors too.

Disagree. After tonight, just tired of the careless plays by fiala. We could get a monster package for him

We just need to try and get through the next 3 years, trying to keep what we need without giving up the future. No one thought the Wild would be this good this year and we only have a couple chips to play the next 3 years and we need to play them wisely.

Plus the people criticizing greenway signing: foligno and Ek for whatever reason have sucked without each other, or without greenway on that line

Fiala not being offered deal yet , or no reports that he has made me think whether, or not he continues to ask for kaprizov's money.

One last thing, why do people want to rid of kaprizov's safety net in Zuccarello? Not talking about you, but others
The bottom line is that this forum is full of bad takes and we should be thankful that the posters here don't run the team.

Nobody "wants" to get rid of Zuccarello, but Fiala is 25, Dumba is 27 and Zuccarello is 34. It's something that absolutely should be factored into the equation.

Further, when the dead cap is gone and this team is actually trying to compete, Fiala will be 29 and Zuccarello will be 38. People love to point out how Zuccarello is still productive in his mid 30s, Fiala will still have half a decade until he's that old. Zuccarello will be sitting on his couch eating cheetos.

Frankly, it's a no f***ing brainer to explore trading Zuccarello instead.

Only argument would be the return for Fiala is much greater. If Ottawa is willing to give up their first rounder for him it could turn into a much needed center or RHD. Honestly though I wouldn’t mind trading Zucc,Fiala,Dumba and Talbot for assets. Let the kids play and develop so when we are out of cap hell we can make a big move. I know we probably wouldn’t be any good but what’s the point of just staying average. We will also have to sign Boldy which won’t come cheap.

Wild will make their decisions based on a player's qualities and what he brings to the team. Age is less of a factor.

two schools of thought. How can we win a cup now -bit of a stretch.
.or
let the kids play and develop.
get some good assets for whoever we can’t keep.
Younger the better.
neither ideal but ask Parise and Suter to shoot some cash back here and maybe there would be some trades possible

Is Fiala even a consideration to GMBG?

The return would need to be damn good to justify maybe 3 years of Zuccarello over potentially 10 years of Fiala, who's the better player.

Based on points per game, Zuccarello is 17th in the league. Now where's Fiala, oh there he is...75th.

I’m glad we could re-kindle the Fiala vs Zucc hate. It had been too long. Both are fabulous players. Not that Zucc has followed the typical Carter progression, but he’s due to fall off much sooner that Fiala.

Oh for sure! I am just wondering if you trade both for assets. I just don’t see us being real contender until after the buyouts are done. Only way is if Rossi is really a #1 center. Even then our D and goaltending needs to improve.

Fiala is electric....Zucc is an awesome player also

Fiala will be even better in 3 years

Zucc will be retired in 3 years

Simple

It should be, anyway.

Two things happened right before this team fell apart - Dumba went down and Talbot came back. Our defense appears to need Dumba, which is a surprising development given how he was in the past, and Kahk may be the better of our two goalies right now. But this team's biggest issues are on the back end and that is where we should be focusing our attention.
