Freddy line is #3, Rossi line is #2. He (the writer) just put it this way. There's zero chance Treniyawn plays in the 2d, and Johansson is always in the 2d.

Still no explanation why they keep their best scorer behind kap away from the 1C spot, which he kinda earned with his play so far this season.

Yeah when they can't score (0 @ Sens) they need to put the guys who had success together on the top line, the last time Kap was out. Eriksson Ek at 0.62 PPG really isn't a top line center, he works better on the 2nd.

I never said that the lines couldn't be changed. All I said is that the starting point should be to put the 2 best offensive players together, and go from there. Unless they are McDavid/Draisaitl or MacKinnon/Rantanen, I think you risk neutering both of them much more than a prospective "spreading the wealth" benefit. Obviously if the line sucks, or the team sucks, you can adapt.

There is a reason, and what I think is a very compelling reason, why other teams in the league don't jump at the chance to play their best offensive center with guys pacing 31 and 18 points, respectively. At least I don't think so, I guess I haven't looked around the league too much lately.

Personally, I think the plan was to try and get Eriksson Ek going last game. Rossi has shown chemistry with Foligno in the past.

No other team has as shitty of winger depth as us. Our depth was terrible before Kaprizov and Johansson went out with injuries. So, if they don’t put Rossi between Boldy and Zucc, you’re getting 3rd/4th line level players. That’s how it works when you’re down your franchise winger and another middle 6 winger (that has been playing top 6).

Whats that chemestry between Rossi & Foligno BS about, are their stats that prove that statement?

When did this happen? I've watched the Wild closely the past few years and I can't recall that Foligno & Rossi ever had the slightest chemestry. Foligno was used as Rossis physical bodyguard in his Rookie season, yes. But I can't say that Foligno ever had a positive impact on Rossis game.

Now Foligno has lost another step this season, it's ridiculous that they still try to ride a dead horse when they put those two onto one line when Rossi has clearly earned the 1C spot this season. It makes no sense to play the second best scorer on the team with scrubs to get others going.

I’m not sure you said a single factual thing in this entire post. Quite impressive.

Ope, you did say one thing I agree with. Rossi has earned the spot of 1C. He’s also been getting the most 5v5 minutes amongst centers. Most of his time this season was with Kaprizov (when he was healthy). I just think it’s funny that every blue moon Rossi gets move around and people throw a hissy fit. Look up the stats or shut up.

Bettman weighed in Thursday, making it clear that he thinks the Wild deserve public money because of what they and the arena do for downtown St. Paul, the surrounding community and the state.

So he'll be back March 9th against the Penguins, so depending on Kaprizov's timeline, that could be up to a week, and 3 games, that Kaprizov could be back with Hartman still out. That would make it a really tight squeeze for those three games cap-wise.
