This is driving me nuts. So frustrating.

You must be thinking of someone else, he has never played for SJS
Same guy, wrong team. Anaheim...i got my lousy west coast teams mixed up.

I find it sad that BG actually thought that there would be a rush to sign a 32yo who scored 21 points and was one of the main reasons we lost again in the playoffs. Gotta lock that guy up for another 4 years with a NMC, right?

Knowing GMs, someone would probably be in a rush to sign Foligno. Do consider how 36 year old Ryan Reaves was signed for 3 years.

The thing is, why give him that extension before the season even started? We have been saying this since the fact, I know. But I mean, WTF? At least wait a couple of months and let him feel some pressure to outperform himself to get that contract. I he regresses, give him less money. That is what puzzles me the most.

Lines at practice today...

Kaprizov-Hartman-Zuccarello
Johansson-Eriksson Ek-Maroon
Foligno-Rossi-Gaudreau
Duhaime-Dewar-Lettieri

Merrill didn't show up. Hurt? Or a trade in the works?

And Kap can't be separated from his emotional support pet.
I think it is the other way around. The level of exposing that would occur if Zucc played elsewhere would be enormous. He has been so inefficient 5v5, and even with 97 not playing well, he still elevates Zucc as it is

This is why I'm not optimistic for them moving him off that line in the next 3 years. We're already at the point where it should be happening, and there's no sign of it even being a consideration.

Also, we have to watch him play for 3 more years lol

And Foligno for 5!!!! :moose:

Not to bring up old wounds, however with the defense so thin (and bad) - I started thinking about the Suter buyout. It's always bugged me there was never a public reason (other than rumors) for the buyout - I never heard any concrete information from the media.

Now it bugs me even more seeing Suter played 82 games last year with an average TOI around 20 minutes (+/- = 0), and still averaging the same this year (yes - it is 2nd pair minutes). At the same time, his replacement player (pick whoever) costs Suter's salary plus his own. Seems like a waste of cap space.

Anyway, I don't post much and will probably be ridiculed - It seems the media kind of glosses over this instead of holding BG's feet to the fire.

Maybe something like this:

1. He was no prankster
2. He didn´t invite the callups home for dinner with the wifey
3. His lockerroom speeches was too short and lifeless
4. He has a punchable face

Some really terrible commercials, too.

Apparently this team and management is so fragile that they couldn't handle Suter's personality, so he had to go, crippling this team financially for years. Say what you will about him, but he is much better than Merrill and Goligoski....

Definitely under the heading of old business, though.
