If Rossi needs Walker to be effective in the AHL then it's a very bad sign.

I am also in favor of seeing what upside Walker has over Steel, but i get why Dean is staying with Steel. I just am not a fan of Steel at all, and think it's a joke that he is our #1C, but I could've said the same in previous years about players like Victor Rask.

It's not that Walker is all that, it's just that there is a possibility that he might be a secondary offensive talent that can help make the Boldy line more potent. Feels like we are sending him down w/o really knowing what he is, or giving him a chance.

Steel....there's nothing there, for me. He's Tyson Jost.
Follow the link and listen to what Zuccarello and Kaprizov said about Steel, they praised him.

To me Steel also conducts himself very well as a pro, he said the right things when he was asked if he's worried about his spot when Hartman returns.

Evason said that it would be silly to change anything on the top line at this point. Hartman, who's expected to play tomorrow, will probably play with Boldy.

Can Dallas really own a color scheme, especially one they aren't even using? Especially when we have teams like Toronto and Tampa basically using the same colors.

Dallas owning the rights to any references to North Stars or their logo is probably another matter.
Minnesota should have done what Cleveland did when the Browns moved to Baltimore, sue for the name to stay in Minnesota, but too late for that.

MN wouldn't have gotten a hockey team as soon as they did if they got pissy with the NHL.

This stretch of games seems like the false sense of security part of the schedule. Playing a bunch of bad teams, makes me think "maybe the Wild are a good team."

Kaprizov and Zuccarello are literally fueling this team rn. Seems like nobody else can generate anything. If we can get another scoring line going we might be able to lose in 7 in the first round rather than in 5.

I can dispute this, slightly, but it doesn't really matter. We are solid team that is going to make the playoffs, probably, but will not be a Cup contender.

Sound familiar?

Same old same old. At least last years team was fun to watch. Now, it’s miserable to watch when 97 isn’t on the ice.

Very true, and for the fun factor, I don't even think all of it is Fiala's absence. It's very true, though,, this team is nowhere near as fun to watch.

I'd say part of that is probably the fact we haven't had about 10 miracle pulled-goalie goals.

Steel with 6pts in the last 5gp (no 1st unit pp time). Boldy/Gaudreau each have 4 points in the last 5 gp. The only person in the top 6 that wasn’t scoring was Walker and to be fair, it was his first sip of NHL play. Insert Hartman and now we should have one high end scoring line, a decent scoring line, the best checking line in the NHL, and a pretty darn good 4th line.

Our defense has been lights out lately and that makes for some pretty boring games. I’d rather have a good defense/goaltending than have to score 5 to win like last year.

Not bad, old dog. I'm sure Kirill, and the rest of his teammates are happy for him :thumbu:

My spirit animal - let our rings combine!

Judging by some of the posts in the Guerin thread, I don't think you're alone. Looks like plenty of people are getting to that point again where they don't think the flaws in this roster are all that detrimental because we're winning right now.

When do we start getting worried about Greenway's offence? He's on the first year of a new 3 year deal and on pace to finish the season with 13 points in 66gp. Even Ryan Reaves has matched his total points in 3 less games in Minnesota.

I've kind of always worried about greenways offense.
His offense will probably always be around .5ppg. He’s off to a slow start this year. I think his value comes more in his defense, puck control along the boards, and his cycle play. More of a “don’t let the other team score on us and if we score then we score” kind of player.
