Given the fact that Minnesota has 14 million tied up in buyout money and they’re still a good team is insane… Good for them. Should be a fun game to watch.

Which one did you not like? The breakaway cough up by Brodie? The breakaway cough up by Lillypad? The deflection off of Brodie and in? The deflection off newhook? The clearcut tap in on a 3 on 1?

I don't think he is a very good goalie anyway. Last season was an aberration. He is not a .919 save% goalie, not even close. You saw how crap he was in the playoffs. I think he definitely closer to his season in Washington where he had a .896 save % in 21-22. He is a backup, at best. Who knows, maybe he will get hot at the right time like Adin Hill.

I traveled over five hours, on bus, to watch this game with my kid tonight.

On tv.

Not even live. That's how much the Leafs mean to me. I even brainwashed my own son into being a believer.

We bond over this team.

It's all we ever talk about when we are together. I'm not ashamed to admit he knows more Leafs trivia than I do. To be honest this team is pretty much the only thing we have in common anymore.

Other than my smashing good looks that is.

I don't care if they win or lose tonight. I don't care if Brodie can't stay on his feet or Liljegren coughs up a muffin. I don't care if whoever is in net can't save a beach ball.

I'm just gonna enjoy watching the game with my kid.

Go Leafs Go
Core memories for kid bud. I hope he cherishes these moments. I think we all over 40+ know how quickly these opportunities dissappear

He was injured in the playoffs, everyone was aware.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion I suppose lol

Watching the Reaves and Klingberg interviews for this game they were both hyping up Boldy very much. Going to have to keep him in check in addition to Kaprizov of course.

Also, don't care about you Reaves haters crying he makes slightly over a million, this guys personality is exactly what this team needs. Our team is full of PR trained robots so having a personable guy like him who can go throw the body and protects the skill guys and take some of the heat off them is just so important
I was originally near apoplectic that we (MN) traded for Reaves, but I ended up changing my mind about him. He is a vg team guy, is a very heavy forechecker, and plays smart. Does not take bad penalties, unlike many of his ilk. Very slow, of course, and with clumsy hands, though he actually did ok on our 4th line, eventually clicking with Dewar and Duhaime. He would look on like a proud Papa when little Dewar, and Duhaime would drop the gloves.

He doesn't actually fight much, but i noticed that asshats like Jamie Benn got very well behaved in post whistle scrums when he was on the ice.

FWIW, MN looked pretty off in their first game, but were saved by Gus. Spurgeon, their best Dman, is out. Kaprizov looked off, as did Zuccarello. JEE was his normal PITA self. Two rookies, Faber and Rossi, looked vg. Faber scored, and Rossi had one called back.

I predict a Leaf's win in a tight game. Always fun for me to see the the iconic Leaf's sweaters.

Have fun with Klingberg while it lasts. He was very effective offensively for us last year when we first got him, and some fans were pumped. It was only after a while that we realized how bad he was defensively. He really should be a 3rd pairing/PP guy. I think Dumba would've been a better signing, but maybe he was asking for too much money.

No 7th body. They’ll be calling up an extra on game day and then send them down on off days to manage the cap.
When the Leafs are in LTIR they can't bank any cap room. Sending players down on off days doesn't give them any more money to spend later.

I don't think this one will be close. The Wild will have to rely on their goaltending, and Toronto's offense will just be too much for them.

Can't go by just one game. Even Petr Mrazek is playing outside of his usual abilities (in a good way).
