Wondering if they refused to waive their NMC's or just that management chose to not ask them. I do think its good in the sense that they can now hold on to Dumba.

If Suter had accepted the move to Edmonton, with 26% retention it would have been better option than Keith.

I took that retention sum so the cap hit would be about the same as Keith's.

Ah, didn't think about the Dumba part. That makes more sense.

I wouldn't be surprised if Suter re-signs with Minnesota at a lower AAV, but similar money to what he was going to get from the previous contract. They're allowed to sign him after a buyout, right?

I'm pretty sure bought out players can't re-sign with their old team for a year.

What are the Wild doing? They're going to have $12.7 million in dead cap space in 2022-2023 and $14.7 million in dead cap space in both 2023-2024 and 2024-2025. Is this basically just admitting the Wild are going to rebuild?

I can kinda understand buying out Parise, but absolutely not Suter.

Afraid of recapture I presume. Might as well just tank for Wright and Bedard, they can't compete in 2023-24 & 2024-25 at all now.

Cap hits beginning this year for the rest of the decade.

They are both going to be replaced by $900k players. It's not THAT much of a deal.
