Parise can still give you 15-20 or so goals as the third wheel on a top 6 line.

Suter can still play big minutes as a #3 or 4.

Suter especially will be heavily wanted by a ton of GMs.

I mean, it's fitting that they came in together and that they are leaving together. I'm sure that's still a large portion of why this happened as it did. Wild wanted to get rid of Parise and Suter probably didn't want to be there anymore if Parise wasn't going to be. I wouldn't be surprised if they signed somewhere else together. Lots of places could use Suter and plenty will make it work to fit Parise in to get him too.

Everyone has to remember Suter being bought out means they can keep Dumba.

Also my first thought was Suter want to come play with an old friend.
Ah, didn't think about the Dumba part. That makes more sense.

I wouldn't be surprised if Suter re-signs with Minnesota at a lower AAV, but similar money to what he was going to get from the previous contract. They're allowed to sign him after a buyout, right?

EDIT - actually nevermind, that doesn't make sense. He could've just waived the NMC clause, he never would've been picked
