Finding chemistry with Hintz. Mikko 1+3, Roope 2+2 today.
Got tripped by goalie and still controlled the puck even falling.falls down, puck goes off a defender's skate
This was my biggest worry in losing Mikko. Not necessarily him ending up in Dallas and eliminating us. But losing an elite talent is losing an elite talent. Necas is good. But his best just doesn't compete with Mikko's. Not even close.Sure makes you regret believing the grass is always greener when the exact thing you became accustomed to suddenly happens to you. Mikko is a playoff gamebreaker and is deserving of that reputation, especially after tonight. Congrats to him for proving CMac wrong.
Not only tonight.. basically all four nights that really really matter (even though Avs won some of those).Sure makes you regret believing the grass is always greener when the exact thing you became accustomed to suddenly happens to you. You forget... we were blaming Bednar for not putting Mikko on the second line as well. There are a lot of obnoxious jack*sses on this board who were banging the drum to trade him. Now these neutered cowards are blameshifting to Bednar. It’s a pathetic playbook. Why do we talk to each other when so many obnoxious jack*sses on this board give us no reasons to listen to each other. Pathetic.
@LOFIN You took all the slings and arrows from this obnoxious crowd.

Thats great, but where was that "gamebreaker" in all those games 7 in the past, or when we went out in Round 2, or last year against his new team.....Mikko is a playoff gamebreaker
Last year's Stars series is the only one you could argue he underperformed in a playoff series throughout his entire career (still had 5 in 7, but was -7). He's been an absolute PPG monster otherwise. And then he goes on the become the dagger against the Avs and played well enough to nearly end it in 6 for them single-handedly. Take away his production and the Stars probably do lose the series.Thats great, but where was that "gamebreaker" in all those games 7 in the past, or when we went out in Round 2, or last year against his new team.....
He had the game of his live on Saturday, i get it. And it sucks major to get a big "f*** you". But in general the AVS not lost this series because of Mikko Rantanen, just to be clear.
And it's one thing somewhat when it it's 2nd line/middle 6 player who has a bit of a cult following. This happened with one of the best and most important players in the franchises history.Last year's Stars series is the only one you could argue he underperformed in a playoff series throughout his entire career (still had 5 in 7, but was -7). How complacent he was getting in the regular season will always be the argument, I get it. But now that nearly all of CMac's galaxy braining has backfired, Mikko is going to remain the everlasting "what if" the the back of Avs fans minds. That in an of itself is pretty f***ed up.
The only player I ever held a grudge over was Duchene. He quit on us.I don't understand the people who were booing him in Denver. He didn't whien his way out of town. They just couldn't come to a deal. CMac didn't want to pay him what he though he should be paid. I don't think either party was being unreasonable.
The odds of things playing out the way that they did after the trade are like 1 in 10 million. Now we're stuck with him in the division.
