Hope Richie gets the help he needs. Still love the guy and appreciate what he did here and was a big part of changing from rebuild to competitors in 2012.. Not to mention he was our best player in the 2013 playoff run.

Amen.

Will never forgive that **** wad Bolland for that dome shot in Game 1. Completely unnecessary and finished him off, and didn't even get a second look.

At this point with the new date if the legal problems are what's holding up a deal he really has another year to be honest. Feb 29 is the trade deadline and the last day he could sign and be playoff eligible. Granted he could come in make some kind if plea and be done that day.

What if it weren't a leap year and Mike had to wait 4 years for his court date? :sarcasm:

I wasn't really suggesting that Mike would get a chance to play this year. I was simply saying that if he really wants a chance to continue playing and there are some people interested, you might take this down time to work your ass off so when the dust settles, you're at your best.

**** Dave Bolland. Garbage play by a garbage player. Even more infuriating was that no King did anything. Richards was dominating that series and not a single response. Still pisses me off.

I also agree that RP will never get to **** Rosamund Pike in a Z06

As has been pointed out he's a long shot but I think a team is willing to give a chance at a sub $1M deal for him for 1 year. But every year he has to sit makes that less and less likely. Which is why the timing of this year really does come into play. And consider at even a $1M deal at say the deadline they would really only have to pay him about 1/3 of that.

In a perfect world, Richie gets signed by Florida for cheap, wins a bunch of money off Bolland in a heated poker game on the plane, and then Bolland gets waived to make room for Richards.

5 points through 24 games this season. :help:

That was the turning point. Richie was never the same after that hit.

I ended up watching and rewatching that clip so many times, to the point I'll end up sharing this to a neurologist.

Good starting points of discussion, objectively speaking, would have to be the impact areas: head and chin. During the 1st 10 seconds of this clip, Bolland's hit on Mike was actually hip on head, while Bolland's elbow served as additional impact.

Can't read it due to terrible website. Whats the potential skinny re: our cap?

Congrats Richie! On a team roster I really really like too. Capitals are my team I hope wins it all (besides the Kings obviously).

Glenn Healy is a ****ing idiot. He totally rips Dean on XM and then proceeds to say Mike Richards will be a definite difference maker. Get the **** outta here.

Mike Richards to the Capitals. does this mean our cap recapture hit goes away???

Best thing I can say is maybe. The CBA states that you pay it if the players isn't receiving a salary from his SPC. This would mean he entered into a new SPC. But does that do away with it? That is where lawyers make their money. And the fact the team entered into a settlement could even have an effect on it. But if it is only a 1 year deal, that would just help this year. Unless he is signed again next year.

It all depends on if they're getting the idea of Mike Richards, which any fans loves, or if they're getting the empty jersey Mike Richards, which is why he's no longer here, even at that cap hit. If he was bringing anything he'd still be a King because Lombardi loves the idea of Richards.

Game 1 against Vancouver. It'll live in Kings fans memories as the game that started it all. Hopefully Richards can get going again.

He was a monster in the series. The tone setter for that year.
