Similar takes to the Monahan threads before he was traded last year.

Bottom line is that Matheson will be "worth" whatever Montreal trades him for... IF they trade him.

From the Habs pov, there's zero reason to trade him for anything less than a value premium. I doubt theyd view a late 1st & B prospect to be sufficient, he's more valuable to their roster next season than that return. KH has pretty consistently made trades that exceeded the expectations from hf boards trade threads, very little reason to doubt that trend continuing if they move Matheson

Monahan isn’t the example you think it is. Nor is Chiarot. They were both failures in the playoffs. Both were devoured by the speed of the games brought by other teams. This shell game Montreal fans have been doing will run out of space eventually. It’s not even clear anymore if MSL is the right man for the job.

What an intersection, no?

what's the intersection?
Habs are in year 3 of a rebuild,
trying to get out of Bergevin's shitty contracts.
Armia, Dvorak, Savard and maybe Evans are gone this summer.
Suzuki, Caufield, Slafkovsky and Hutson have all been producing
relatively well when they're really the only guys getting keyed on.
Dach is still playing himself back from a serious knee injury and Laine
hasn't played all year.
The bottom six has overpriced vets and some young guys hoping to prove
themselves.
second youngest team and youngest D in the league and shitty goaltending.
Since it's hockeysfuture I will add that laval also has a young team and is 12-2
with kids like dobes, roy, mailloux, Tuch, engstrom, beck etc...all playing well
with Demodov, reinbacher and Hage on the way + several more high picks this summer,
habs will be ok.
They certainly won't fire St Louis, even if I and many habs fans have some issues with his coaching.
They will give him the benefit of the doubt until he fails with his team

Says the poster that was dead wrong about Monahan

Nor is Chiarot. They were both failures in the playoffs.

I don't think hockey works the way you think it does.

Both were devoured by the speed of the games brought by other teams.

The obsession with Montreal in your posts is very cringe-worthy, beyond the terrible lack of quality in your takes.

Like your poor assessments last year, you're likely to be way off here as well... come trade deadline teams & GMs will do what they do, further adding to the very obvious precedent that should inform opinions more than mindless emotional rants... "should"... won't hold my breath.

Sure. Trot continual failures out there as examples. That works.

No, pretty sure no amount of failed takes about Habs players will change much about the poor assessments you share... is what it is.

Failed takes? Are you seriously suggesting Florida considers Chiarot a success? Or Winnipeg with Monahan given how seriously he was devoured by the speed of the game in the playoffs? They’re huge failures. How do you not see that?

If you don't think the Jets valued the trade, speaks volumes about how heavy the bias of your takes are & how thick the blinders are.

And explains why your take about Matheson is so out to lunch.
