His play recently is why I didn't like the trade when it was announced, because of the length of the contract.
But he was good last year for more than a small sample size. Now he's bad this year for a small sample size. He says he's not playing injured. But we don't know for sure. I'll wait and see on him...
Anderson was good last year for more than a small sample size. Now he sucks. Only solution I have for Anderson is to play him with RHP, or Gallagher. He seems to play well with those players that can discombobulated the opposition, and whose work ethic rubs off on him.
Absolutely agree with the bolded part about who has a chance of getting the most out of Anderson.
Anderson played well with Dubois in Columbus, but Dubois is not a pure skills player. He has a N/S component to his game and a physical dimension that meshed well with Anderson's own style of play. I also think that Anderson plays a better physical game when he is not the only one applying that style on his line.
Armia could be another solid match for Anderson. Then, it all depends who the C would be?
IMO, RHP - Dvorak - Anderson should be a decent line, as should be Anderson - Dvorak - Armia, where Anderson would have more angles to the net on his off side on the rush, charging at the opposing G on those nifty breakaways he routinely gets, but doesn't cash in.
Playing in the bottom - 6 against lesser opposition will also help Anderson exploit his speed against more static Ds.
