Am I the only person here who expects Komi to have a bounce back year?
I know a lot of people, myself included, were expecting Schenn to have a really good year under Carlyle, but everyone is writing Komi off.

Will he play up to his contract? Probably not, but I think he's going to surprise a lot of people who expect the worst.

I hope he does. Only time will tell. His leadership will be needed too with Lombo and Connolly (probably) gone.

Every year some think he'll bounce back. Literally every year.

It's possible but unlikely.

If he was paid according to his value, he'd be a nice player to have but he's overpaid for the value he brings.

No. Break the cycle. Waive him... Or amnesty

The only expectation I have is that IF the team can commit to Carlyle's system, then a guy like Komisarek should benefit from that rather than further regress in his performance.

I think its possible that Komi has a decent year, IF he is used in a limited role.

Can't have Komi playing against Crosby and Malkin but if he is used mostly 5-on-5 against 3rd and 4th lines then i see a solid year.

Still not worth the $ but no rush to buy him out right now...

It makes no sense to complaince buy-out him until the summer, so we might as well give him a few games to show he can play better. Worst case scenario he's in the press box this season as our 7th D and bought out in the summer.

We're going to need a big stay at home defenseman anyway so we might as well give him one last chance to do that.

Komisarek hasn't bounced back in the previous 3 past years since signing his contract, so I'm not sure hoping year 4 brings new fortunes should be expected.

I am hoping against hope for him to bounce back.

If he can't, waive his ass off to minors as well (and then buy him out in summer).

I am optimistic that Komi will have a bounce back year. I don't think he will live up to his contract, but I think playing a defensive system which I am expecting Carlyle to bring will help him. The run and gun style does not fit his style. If he can play a more stay at home style I think we will see some of his gaffs with the puck disappear. He wont be looking at our forwards spread out through the neutral zone looking for the breakout passes, our wingers will be back in the d zone to help get the puck out of our zone.
