ana not a fit to them or zib

EDIT ADD: Not sure peeps got this first time:
Leafs -> Matthews = incentive for Zib to waive
or
Kings -> replaces Kopitar soon [Byfield to nyr] = incentive for Zib to waive

both deals Shesty goes

Da Big Apple

not at all delusional
Shesty is key component both instances
he is an elite G, possibly league's best

TOR = a fit b'c they can't keep rolling the same lineup + come up short

LAK = published report [via Yardbarker] they will go hard for him
they won't want to cough up By guy, but to get him now, with extension they would be permitted to make before deal, will cost Byfield

instead of taking a pot shot, why not substantiate your allegations?
you remind me when Nils L went to DAL for a 1st, and most said no, no, while I said yes
they were wrong
which made me ....

not delusional

If he’s forced out, it’s gonna happen next summer, and he’s gonna pick where he goes. Which will 100% effect his value.

You just don’t get to trade NMC players with 5 years left on $8.5 million contracts post 30, without taking a hit on their value. Especially when the team he’ll want to go to, knows they almost have to trade him there.

The 5 years left would hurt them the most, so really can’t see him being their cap victim.

Trouba will be one, they probably won’t re-sign Lindgren unless they have a plan to trade a 2nd Dman, and they won’t qualify Kakko if he’s not traded. If there’s another victim it’ll likely be Trocheck as his NMC changes on July 1 to an NTC.

They put that in his contract because they knew, they were gonna have some issues in the summer of 2025. In fact Kakko not blowing up into a star, has actually allowed them to get to 2025 without having to make a big cut yet.

Don’t be surprised btw with Trouba, if they trade him AND pay a sweetener for the other team to buy him out. It’ll open up the amount of teams who will take the year of his deal and save the Rangers money If they can find someone just to take the $8 million, even better, but he’ll still want a say in where he goes with his NTC. If Trouba knows he’s gonna be bought out though, he won’t care where he goes, then he can sign with the Devils or Isles for cheap if he wants to remain in the area.

Obviously the Rangers would rather trade him to a team that won’t buy him out, but it’s still gonna be interesting to see how it all ends for him with the Rangers after this season, but it’s ending.

coupla dings

1. zib does NOT = pld = useless in LA
he simply is too inconsistent w/Kreider, who we are keeping, to justify 1st line and mid 6 are crushing it, + 8.5 for 4C is ng. But being inconsistent does not = not productive at all = no value or neg value.
has he become overpriced? yes
Is poster's advisory re cap retention fair/reasonable? yes, dep on what else is in the deal/coming back.

2. Trouba is effective 3RD ecept as to skating, but he is not a boat anchor either
supposedly 20-ish teams were interested before JT + wife put kabosh on deal while she finishes work commitments.
May or may not require eating up to 1.5m cap hit for next season. That's about it.
This is not a guy in mid 30s, wheels are falling off, gonna have to be bought out

3. You are wrong on Kakko
Even if he is not amassing points up the wazu, he is very productive component on his line, which chips in ok for now and getting better while not lots of scoring vs
Also, for umpteenth time
bread is not sniffing 11.6+ again after next season
we have Gabe P, but he is targeted for 1RW
we have Othmann who may/may not be ready sooner than later
KK is needed and I am guessing we can lock him up reasonable 3.75-4.25 per x 6-8 ish
that is totally doable/affordable
esp after we ditch lindgren, vesey + trouba
