Mental health struggles are real and he as them. Hope he can fight though it. As a person, I wish him well and hope he comes out the other side better. Regardless of the jersey he wears, he's a person underneath. Rangers can pound sand, but hope he gets better.

I understand your stance. Everyone has mental struggles. Some of us deal with it. Some of us do something about it. (see a therapist). Some don't, even resulting in suicide.

However, you simply misunderstand the severity of mental illness. This isnt just a, "ugh my job sucks, im stressed." Or "My kids are driving me insane."
You may be fortunate that your personal mental illness has been relatively manageable, but that doesn't mean the magnitude is universally equal. Theres a reason why psychiatrists exist. Theres a reason why medicine is increasing its focus on mental illness. Its not a simple "toughen up kid."

Id even argue that Mika or any professional athlete, a 0.001% of the population is more susceptible to mental pressures than the majority of us working our 9-5 jobs at home as a regular civilian. As an athlete all eyes are on you. You get paid to perform and when you don't, the fanbase turns on you.

Having said all that, Mika has not been good and needs a shakeup. There is no denying that. But its understandable (and okay) to be both frustrated as a fan and have empathy for a player who is struggling.
great post. thanks

Educate yourself about what a panic attack is. It isn't something you can just "suck up" in the moment. The symptoms are acutely physical and have nothing to do mental resilience or any other human quality a person does/doesn't have
100%. Found out that panic and anxiety attacks give me seizures, learned the hard way with a few bangs and gashes to the head when I’ve went down

Assume much?

"Grouching about being mentally ill" "It's not a physical illness "Just deal with it"

As someone who has battled with mental illness myself, witnessed it with my loved ones and work to help people affected by it, seriously man, f*** you.
Seperate the person from the player. As a Rangers fan, F Mika and get him off the team!

As a human, i don’t know him but wish him the best.

These are separate.

Because a panic attack isn’t a physical sickness. If he had a physical sickness, I’d understand.

It’s a mental illness, and sorry I don’t really understand about a guy making 8.5M a year to start grouching about a mental sickness. Everyone deals with stuff like that and unfortunately we don’t get to take off work with full pay and without losing our jobs.
A panic attack is absolutely a physical ailment, which is why it requires a central nervous system depressant (typically a drug in the benzodiazepine class) to resolve it
