78 goals this year and last year including the playoffs but he doesn’t want it. Got it. Always have to look for some stupid narratives and not understand that sometimes things happen, there’s another team, there’s variance, there’s time you play good and times you don’t.
How about one just one goal in a f***ing playoff series. He’s been invisible out there.

Is he supposed to sit in his house and stare at the walls until training camp?

Bad optics? Geez…..the takes on here just to say something negative.
Not the greatest optics after having a horrendous Playoffs.

Bro, it's fine. Mika has shown he can play at a high playoff level. He had a great season.

The entire team fell apart.... as a team. He shouldn't lock himself away from life after a bad playoff. You're nuts.

Also, doing one thing and only one thing - hockey - may also not be a great thing for your game.

Imagine thinking these athletes need to focus on just thier sport and never allowed to have extra curricular activities. People freaking out because the dude makes EDM in his spare time. Which btw can be done on a laptop exclusively over a period of time, like on long plane rides. What is this like the second time he will be DJing while being a hockey player? Jesus Christ lol.

I think sports psychology suggests that athletes that can shut off from the game and pursue hobbies have a better relationship with the game and perform at a higher level when needed. It promotes significantly better mental health, and this is speculation, but that can help players move on so to speak from really low lows and really high highs. Sometimes you don't want to stay in that state for too long. Only thinking about hockey, baseball, football, etc can be mentally rough just as much as physically.

I have no issue with him doing this but also @duhmetreE is right that he opens himself up to criticism after the playoffs he had. He was our best skater in the regular season though. That counts for something at least
Criticize his play? More than okay….

But attaching that to what he does in the offseason is just plain stupid, and just another example of looking for even more things to shit on players

Wait until his music career takes off and he retires early from hockey to follow his dreams as a full time touring DJ.

How would this affect the cap if he retired early not due to injury???

It's not just sports psychology... it's also basic common sense and mental health.
