If the kid doesn’t get it after s couple healthy scratches he’ll be sent down to the ahl to figure it outOkay, but most of those players you named suck and aren’t NHL players. Michkov is the most important player in the organization. Making sure he develops right is very important.
It’s not an issue for one game. It’s an issue if it becomes a habit of Torts. He has to realize that you can’t keep going back to this well. You use it once or twice and then you have to accept the results and try to instill your message another way.
If he does that, fair enough. Don’t think it’s an issue for one game. That happens to virtually every rookie, and almost a certainty when you’re dealing with an old school coach.

Well i wish the best of luck to the flyers if that’s the caseHe goes back to the KHL if that's the case. I think its in his contract.
You can’t ask a 19 years old who’s got a lot of defensive deficiencies to come into the best league in the world and play like a vet. Michkov will be fine. He’s not the only one that goes through that learning process.
They had no other choice with Bedard last year as it was either the NHL or CHL. I think he's much better this year defensively than he was last year. Also, Bedard last year was producing at 5v5, which Michkov had a hard time to do so far this year.Tell that to Bedard.... a similarly skilled player who was horrible defensively last year, yet got 20 minutes a game.
Michkov should be treated similarly. Players like Bedard/Michkov are smart enough to eventually figure out the D zone over time. And it's not like the Flyers are going anywhere anyhow.
.
he won't get faster of bigger after being scratched. michkov will be an idiot to spend any time in the ahl when there is a khl option. if it's the ahl for him he should play a couple of season in the khl instead. If the kid doesn’t get it after s couple healthy scratches he’ll be sent down to the ahl to figure it out
Damn id love to see him play with Demidov. He goes back to the KHL if that's the case. I think its in his contract.

I also agree they are smart enough to eventually figure it out. I'm not too worried about it.
Hes a pretty useful player, id make room for him on my lineupI remember a Lightning player who was healthy scratched a ton early. Some guy named Kucherov. I heard he turned out okay
