The kicker is a kick in the face...so if he had a history, it would be 5 or 6 games for that? My goodness!

Everyone knew it would be more than 2. I’m surprised they didn’t give him 10 games.

Not that big of a loss considering how he’s played the past few months.

Knies, it’s your time!

Bunting deserves a suspension. But total lack of consistency compared to other headshots, as usual.
Because it is Bunting he really needs to learn to shut his mouth barking at the refs will not help him out in the future.
Wouldn't sign him next good player but he is a target.

Cermak doesn't mind injuring other players so if you play that way expect it back. Also all the Bunting hate just like the Kadri hate is ridiculous. I hope like Kadri he moves on to a team that actually looks out for one another so he doesn't feel he needs to compensate for the teams lack of heart.

Cooper played Keefe and the Leafs.
that regular season game was a slug fest, so the Leafs geared up for lots of physicality.
And the Leafs took most of the penalties.
I don’t know. Other than Buntings stupidity most of the other penalties didn’t seem to have anything to do with physicality or aggressive play.

I really don't think the hit was that bad. He made contact with the head, so he was going to get something, but it just looked like he was expecting to go shoulder-to-shoulder with Cernak and missed. Reckless, but not malicious.

So three playoff games, plus a 5+misconduct in-game, seems overkill based on past precedent. But I am not surprised. Parros' shtick is well-known at this point: soft on discipline for most teams and players, but not the Leafs. Leaf players always get the full punishment and then some, regardless of whether they are a rat like Bunting, an esteemed vet like Spezza, or a superstar like Matthews.

It was suspension worthy, I just don't know if it is justified seeing it is the playoffs AND what playoff suspensions have been in the past.
I'm all for getting that stuff out of the game and making ALL suspensions longer. The problem I have is there have been other offenses in the past that were just as bad that had less of a penalty. Be consistent.

Not a big fan anyhow. Hes Marchand without the elite skill, Tucker without toughness and fearlessness..... Kind of tired of watching him run his mouth, wine, and do stupid things.

LOL there was nothing "heart" about that. It was just another boneheaded play that ends up costing this team.

He didn't show any more heart than anyone else on that team. If anything, he was, once again, caught up with his personal antics more than trying to win a hockey game and the Leafs can't afford that kind of behaviour. We are not given that luxury.

I think two things can be true at the same time. I don't mind Bunting bloodying a bully's nose a little bit. A flying elbow, a high stick, getting the hands up is a normal hockey self defense and deterrence. You see that nonsense in most scrums and no doubt Cernak is trying to hurt you. But it's timing, not costing your team and probably having the control not to let it get completely out of hand the way it did even though the pop to the head and the head hitting the ice was things landing just the wrong way. It was too careless and a guy got hurt. And it hurt the Leafs.
