It's 100% on purpose. It seems like Bunting got his skate pulled by Trent as they were turning around, and then Bunting gave him a kick with this skate. Definitely not a loss of balance as the stride with the right skate was already made before the kick.

Only one i remember that could’ve been called (but I’m glad it wasn’t) was Simmonds on Foligno.

Officiating was totally fine

I mean Ullmark literally threw his stick, which should've been a penalty but led to the tying goal seconds later. Couldn't even count how many cross-checks and slashes Marchand threw. Bunting with the skate kick could've seriously injured someone, Forbort being a plug as usual, can't defend so just cross-checks everyone in front of the crease. Refs need to do their jobs instead of letting guys play. It eventually leads to tempers flaring and then someone seriously getting hurt, like the Kadri hits in the playoffs. Or even just the cross-checks, Benn injured Matthews early in the season with those and it looks like it's still effecting him.

I do not realize why people downplay it or say it's in on purpose, it is on f***ing purpose. He should sit for it, it did not harm the player THIS TIME. YOU. DO. NOT. KICK. PLAYERS.

He should be suspended 100% let's sure what Parros does. Kucherov kicked Marner harder than that earlier on this season and there was nothing.

Agreed.

The kick turned out to be nothing but if the league really wants to protect players it needs to come down harshly on non-hockey plays like this that could result in serious injury.

Crosscheck a guy in the neck/head? Make it a minimum 5 games.
Kick a guy with your skate? Minimum 5 games.

Yes it's absolutely harsh but there's a reason why there aren't bench clearing brawls anymore. There will always be a lot of risk in hockey. Why not work to eliminate the ones that happen on non-hockey plays.

Sportsnet clearly seen the play but decided to not say a thing as usual, they have isolation cameras on the players, they ignored. If it was Marchand the panel would have been calling for blood, the replay would have been shown non stop. Even the highlites from the sports news channels had that footage but left it out.

Craig Simpson whined about the goalie stick clip and went on about a fantom Krejci stick to the glove non call. Later on Flinstone head Freidman was crying about the non stick call again, even when they had the footage of why the Bruin players were after dirt bag Bunting, they decided or were told not to comment.

That’s why I generally mute the games especially the intermissions. The NHL has always had biased colour commentators.
At least we no longer have to listen to Cherry go on about the Leafs nonstop. Simpson is an over the top Leaf homer though and Hrudey is the same for Calgary and Jim Hughson was for the Canucks.

100% intentional, looking at context of being in a chippy battle and not willing to drop them with a much tougher Frederic, he

Ah, Samsung/hfboards glitch again. Great.

I guess Bunting won't be suspended because if he was wouldn't there have been an announcement by now for a hearing on Twitter from the NHL Player Safety account.

George Parros maybe horrible at his job, however he's following the precedent when nothing happened to Kucherov for kicking Marner, so it would have been a joke if Bunting got suspended based on that.

Kucherov kicked the “great value generic brand kucherov“ earlier this season? I don’t remember that.

I’m sure leafs nation will show it with 60+ embedded twitter videos they have bookmarked.

It was last season when Kucherov kicked him. However, that doesn't mean it's not a valid example to use. Hell, I bet if he was suspended wouldn't that have made it an easier case to say Bunting would also be suspended?

Don’t care if he gets suspended or not. Won’t help the Bruins. Would have liked the automatic match penalty called during the game.

How many stitches did Marner need? Looks like Kucherov cut through some tendons

How many stitches did Frederic get last night after what Bunting did?

Zero. Didn't look like Frederic got slashed by the blade, so I don't understand why you would ask that.
