Dunno what to make of this one.

Years past, Pens in 5 or 6. This years team in some ways matches up better against the Pens than the Flyers. Should be a more wide open series. Keeping the puck away fron Crosby/Malkin via possession and solid defense will matter more than the net front which was the battleground vs Philly.

If the Rangers get in Fleury's head early I like their chances. If they get stonewalled in Pitt and go down 0-2 it will be a short series.

My brain takes the Pens in 6.

If it comes down to the powerplays, the Pens obviously have the advantage. The Pens can score in bunches and they can give up goals in bunches, but Rangers have to do a better job of finishing this series.

Rangers need:
-Better powerplay
-Be competitive on faceoffs.
-Lundqvist to be sharp.
-If we're talking about how Fleury is playing out of his mind, we're screwed.

My take is that the Rangers won't have to deal with the size issue that they dealt with during the Flyers series. Skill wise Pens are better. Goalie wise if we can get in to Flurey's head he is beatable. As long as Lundqvist doesn't give up softies we have the edge there as well as our core defense.

If the Rangers don't end this in 4 or 5 games it goes to seven and we lose.

League is a joke with these back to back games.

Sunday/Monday give me a break.

i cant imagine that there would be a back to back between 2 and 3. its one thing to have a back to back when traveling by train/bus between NYC and philly but its different when u have to fly imo.

Games 2 and 3 of NYR/PIT are back-to-back Sunday and Monday.

I believe that the Rangers have one game. That game is a forecheck that stresses the opposing team.
It may sound obvious, but we have seen what happens when they do not try to do this.

I know there is more to this than just that, but if they do not do that, forget about it. Allowing the March of the Penguins out of their zone unimpeded will be disaster.

Before anybody jumps on me for mentioning the obvious, I mention it because it is the Rangers' choice. Do what you have to do and have a chance, or be uninspired and lose whatever advantage you have.

The Flyers took them to the brink. I don't see them winning this series.

Friday, May 2: Rangers at Penguins, 7:30 p.m. ET.
Sunday, May 4: Rangers at Penguins, 7 p.m. ET.
Monday, May 5: Penguins at Rangers, 7:30 p.m. ET.
Wednesday, May 7: Penguins at Rangers, 7:30 p.m. ET.
Friday, May 9: Rangers at Penguins, TBD.*
Sunday, May 11: Penguins at Rangers, TBD.*
Tuesday, May 13, TBD.*

Just brutal schedule. 5 games in 7 days is no way to conduct the playoffs. PenRefs getting hugely unfair advantage. I bet Sather's face is beet red right now.

I just just had a laugh at game 2 being a night game as well.
