I keep wondering if they will ever release new music. They aren't getting any younger and they have said a number of times they make their money on tour not album sales.

They have said the wait won't be so long between albums. We're almost at 3 years since Hardwired, and I'm pretty sure they're touring into 2020. Probably another 3 years at least until a new album.

Australian and New Zealand tours cancelled as James is back in rehab.

A Note from Lars, Kirk, and Rob
We are truly sorry to inform our fans and friends that we must postpone our upcoming tour of Australia and New Zealand.
As most of you probably know, our brother James has been struggling with addiction on and off for many years. He has now, unfortunately, had to re-enter a treatment program to work on his recovery again.
We fully intend to make our way to your part of the world as soon as health and schedule permit. We’ll let you know as soon as we can. Once again, we are devastated that we have inconvenienced so many of you, especially our most loyal fans who travel great distances to experience our shows. We appreciate your understanding and support for James and, as always, thank you for being a part of our Metallica family.
All tickets purchased to the shows in Australia and New Zealand, including Enhanced Experiences and Black Tickets, will be fully refunded. More details on how to obtain your refund are below.

Taking part in five different festivals in 2020 and playing 2 different sets at each stop. They are doing Friday and Sunday here at Sonic Temple, should be killer with probably 6+ hours of stuff, maybe sneak in something new?

Got my tickets for Sonic Temple. Figured I spent that much for 1 Metallica show this year, may as well do 2 more shows for the same price.

Gotta wonder how they'll break the set lists up, I'm assuming there will be no repeats from the first show to the second at the same venue, I wonder if they'll have a show from the "older" albums and the other from the "newer" ones..."newer" meaning Load to today.

I hope no repeats as well, but maybe they'll pick an old album to do front-to-back 1 day. A few years ago at Orion Fest, they did a surprise 2nd stage set of Kill Em All in its entirety, followed by their usual set the next day. I'd be totally fine with something like that, limited to a "classic" album of course.

Miley Cyrus singing Nothing Else Matters with them on the Howard Stern Show was beyond bad.

I thought it was good. Her voice seems so much more suited to this kind of music after throat surgery. And she seems to be more of a rocker anyway with a rock album out.

No lie, her rock album is one of my favorites. I hope she continues on the rock path.

I mean that current raspy voice is so much more suited to rock. The video of the Howard Stern performance on Youtube had a comment that compared her to Marianne Faithfull. The comments in general were all glowing. But of course HFBoards gotta do HFBoards...
