I think we are still missing the prospect. 1st, roster player, top prospect, cap. We got the 1st, Zetterlund, and Johnsson. Feels like they’re something else. (Please)

Or… you know… circumstances can change when you actually lay eyes on your roster and full organization outside of your opening press conference the first day on the job. I know that’s too nuanced for most people here.

Salary cap reasons. Makes total sense and we will get an asset for taking on his money.
Oh, please… Everyone knew the salary cap situation and where the roster was. Everyone knew the Sharks needed a rebuild and they needed to do it.

He was told he can’t say the Sharks are rebuilding. He lied through his teeth in his opening press conference.

the more that comes out about this trade, the worse it gets.

at this point anything less than a 2024 and 2025 1st coming back our way is a massive disaster.

Holy crap, if that's it, that's pretty embarrassing. Love stacking up on 3rd liners, who will probably push us out of a top 5 pick. I'll reserve final judgment until all the details are confirmed, but this isn't looking good. If it keeps trending this way, our management is more than a bit off its rocker. We just lost to Chicago lol

Sucks to be Zetterlund because he's an asset to have but he is going to be torn apart and mocked.

Edit: on second thought. Not really. He gets to make a lot of money playing a game. Who the f*** cares what some nerds on computers think.

I hope Zetterlund contributes (I know nothing about him). It's never the players fault when trades are terrible. Always blame management.

Could also be tasked by Becher to speak to the media/fans this way because they worry about ticket sales and alienating fans.

That being said, while it's good Grier is embracing the rebuild at least to some extent with this trade, there's part of me that thinks he looks at Seattle and thinks that if he improves the defense somewhat and brings in enough guys with spunk and then has some kids come up and contribute, there could be a formula to that kind of success here in a year or two.

(I'm not saying I agree with that idea, but if we bring in guys like Zetterlund, Greenway, and Fabbro, after the moves already made, it could be where his mind is.)

He tweaked stuff around the edges in the bottom 6 and saw what things looked like and acted accordingly. You also conveniently choose to ignore the rest of the quote where he talks about taking a step back. So maybe you’re the one lying?

If 2024 1st is included it's not so bad:

2023, 2024 1sts + Zetter + dumps is... passable

barely, but yes. He'll i'd even accept Mukhamadullin in place of the 2024 1st.

anything at this point. and no, that no name never will be that was just added doesn't count.

This thread in a nutshell:

"I have no idea what's going on, so it's bad and everyone involved is incompetent"

I'll hold off on the rending of garments and gnashing of teeth until the trade call is made, but it's a bummer to see Timo go. At least he gave us 5 reasons to remember him against LA last year

I left it out because “a step back” is not the equivalent of a rebuild.

Unless you think trading away a 70+ point winger, 30+ goal scorer, who is under club control for a first and scraps is just “stepping back”.

This is a blast right now, though.
