Could be wrong here, but it looked like a lot of the cross check was caught by Lh’s armpit. It does look like he got some in his face, but not to the extent that he sold it.

I don’t think anyone thinks .73 ppg is close to ppg. I’d say needs to start with a .9x to be considered close, but has some promise.
Yeah you are right I was generous with the AHL PPG stat. Either way the point still stands. Kid has plenty of skill.

It's a penalty for sure, but not a major/game misconduct/probable suspension-worthy one. Not even close. Possibly a worse call than Quinn Hughes getting tossed a few nights back.
.... Okay Timo did knock some teeth out, I think it's slightly worse than the hughes debacle lol

The guy is a literal psychopath, he's going to learn nothing
No he isn't and last season in the AHL pretty much proves he does learn from his mistakes. He was suspended twice last season but both were fairly early. After that he settled down and did well.

Now he is in the NHL and he will learn where the boundaries are there too. He's going to drive other players nuts, but if he can figure it all out he will be one of those guys other fans can't stand but would be perfectly happy on their team.

I wanna know why Ross Colton only received a fine last year when he crosschecked Meier right in the face, just as recklessly. Same intent. Even worse because Colton has already boarded Luke and came and cross checked Meier on the face as he was skating away.

I guess not enough blood spilled... Or some other bias.

NHL DoPS has so many chances to be consistent, and yet, they never choose to, it's no wonder fans always cynical.

I agree with this punishment. He should have kept his cool and done some 2 minute cross checking later on in the end part of the game.

Having said that, I do think the 5 minute penalty kill brought this team together even more than before. They rallied to support Timo . The players, not the coach, really appreciated him getting chippy and sticking up for the team. As a long time fan, this 5 minute major penalty kill was electric. You could see the team respond with energy. The fans knew it too and were ignited with passion. It was something to behold. When a team makes a jump to something more, there are often events in the season what you can look back on, and say, "This was a turning point." This just might very well be one of those moments. Watching them come together during those 5 minutes gave me chills. This was all about team, and not the individual. I'm so proud of them.
