I have faith in the home ice advantage. Especially this year's venues. Is the medal round in Toronto?

Perhaps, there is always the possibility that the expectations are met for Canada, but since 2000 there have been 5 tournaments in Canada, and we've only won gold in two of those (having another 2 silver, and 1 bronze), so it really is not a guarantee ;)

1- Canada
2- USA
3- Russia

If Drouin gets to come, it'll be something else. Easily the best team going into the tournament

1.USA :handclap:
2.Canada :p:
3.Finland
4.Sweden

Can't wait for this tournament to start, I prefer WJC over the Olympics. The games are usually so much fun to watch. I hope we(Swe) don't lose a medal game to Finland and that Canada does not get the gold other than that I'll just enjoy the hockey.

Thnks for the thread, guys. Looking forward to come back here. Oh my, Canada, you love your McJesus so much.

I think Finland's chances are a lot worse than last year. We have a ****** defense + Honka and a lousy coach. Also we are missing a proper #1 center. Then again maybe Saros can do what Rask did in 2006.

Anyways it'll be CAN/USA for 1-2 and CZE/SWE/FIN/RUS for 2-6.

It's nice to have to competition back in Canada. It just feels right.

Both Canada and USA are stacked this year. Toss up between them imo. After that I say Finland but i don't think anyone is that close to the top 2 teams.

A lot of love for Finland on here. Im glad you say this. Still a very good team. Watched them at the 4 Nations tourney just recently and the offense is pretty darn good. Lots of speed and skill and obviously great goaltending. But as you said, no real offensive leader, bit on the younger side, and a coaching change.

I still consider them medal favourites and very hard for anyone to beat, but yes, they will have it tougher then last year for sure.

It's going to be so much fun giving Canada a proper beating.

Horrible goaltending? Okey.

Youngest team in the tournament? Swedens avarage age is 18.35, Finlands is 18.52, that 0.17 age difference surely does a lot!

Swedens roster is miles ahead of Finlands, though Finland have better goaltending.

My prediction:

USA
Sweden
Canada
Russia
finland

Loving this, like usually.. yes we have no freaking change to win. It's just finland, look at our roster how inferior it is. :naughty:

Our roster is 99 % better than Finlands roster.

Absolutely, mighty champions of Sweden will bring it home just with a glance of roster list.

Or perhaps Saros can do what Saros did in 2014...:shakehead

Please say we're playing danmark on new year! :handclap: With finland not in our group there really isn't any other rivalry.

Sweden gold and finland/danmark silver would be ideal but im not picky ;p

Comrades, there's so much of underrating of Russians here. What your predictions are based on? The last 4 tournaments Russians gone home with the medals. I don't see that this year team is worse than ones in the past. Swedish team is clearly worse offensively comparing to last year. I don't see any team, excepting north americans, that has any advantages over the Russians. It's not cause i'm Russian. I'm really wondering why are you so low on them.

Canada- Gold
Sweden- Silver
USA- Bronze

Top forward: McDavid
Best D: Nurse, Hanifin/Werenski

Best goalie: Demko

Gold - USA
Silver - Canada (will predict gold if any of their NHL players get released for the tourny - defense is a small concern as is goaltending)
Bronze - Sweden

Probably cause we haven't seen them play much.

I hear this year Russia lacks a lot of two way players as in more than usual and would pretty much have to out gun the other teams. USA and Canada are clearly more well rounded.

Not sure if thats true though.
