1. Usa
2. Finland
3. Sweden

All Star team

Tuch - Eichel - Kapanen
Hägg - DeAngelo
Husso

The youngest roster in the tournament, basically just a gap year for the Swedes. That, and horrible goaltending.

People said the same in Ufa and Sweden made it to the gold medal match. Even in Edmonton, were they really all that favoured? They always have skill and a lot of speed. I wouldn't count them out.

I think it's the North American teams this year that are stacked, with a sizeable gap between them and the rest of the field. I'm currently picking USA with a slight edge over Canada but it's pretty much a coin flip. Russia doesn't have the high end talent it usually does, but does have very good depth, and though it's a bit of a rebuild year for Sweden, I still expect them to be better than the rest of the remaining teams.

1. USA
2. Canada
3. Russia
4. Sweden

Horrible goaltending? Okey.

Youngest team in the tournament? Swedens avarage age is 18.35, Finlands is 18.52, that 0.17 age difference surely does a lot!

Swedens roster is miles ahead of Finlands, though Finland have better goaltending.

How can all of you have this much insight in every team? I've probably not even seen 95% of all palyers attending this tournament.

Somehow it is hard to believe Canada will not flop. the Ufa tournament really makes it hard for me to believe that we will actually win this year.
I like

USA/Czech/Russia right now, but really, when it comes down to the elimination, Sweden or Finland might just pull through. The Swiss could surprise this year, but they probably won't contend for gold.

It's just hard to imagine Canada actually not chocking this year, especially when the teams are pretty close it seems.

They don't. A very very small minority has seen more than say 10 players in the entire tournament, but they know their country is going to win, and it's indisputable btw, because they live in it. They also know how every other team is going to do, because of the way they are.

As we've seen before, it's not always the most talented team that wins but the team that most plays together. Coaching and goaltending are always factors. If Canada plays together and doesn't try to do everything individually they will be tough to beat.

People really undervaluing Dylan Larkin as USA 3rd center....Eichel, Mathews, Larkin is an amazing top 3. Better than McDavid, Reinhart, Petan imo. USA will be really strong 2-way team, lots of familiarity and chemistry and players who understand their roles.

I'm predicting Canada-USA final...coin flip who wins

I have faith in the home ice advantage. Especially this year's venues. Is the medal round in Toronto?

Exactly. Neither do I or most of us in this thread have any clue whatsoever about the russian minor league as example. So I would not state that Russia lacks talent, depth or anything for that matter before even seeing them play yet.

Not that I have any faith in the idiots at Hockey Canada to get their heads out of their collective *****, but because it is just predicting...and really who the F knows how s**t will unfold,

I'm predicting my favorite Canada v USA match up in the gold medal game....

as for the 3rd place team, I'm looking for the Czechs to play a solid tourney.
