Decisions on who dresses as the sixth defenseman rarely make or break anything; that's not the point. The idea is to dress the team that gives the best chance of winning. Does that include Moore or Diaz? I'd lean Diaz.

I'd have to agree. I really think he's the much better overall player at this time. The only thing that Moore brings over him is his physicality, which we really haven't seen enough this year.

Also, I don't think we have a 1st/2nd PP. I think it's a 1A/1B thing. AV rolls them both rather consistently and whoever is playing better in game, he seems to lean towards more. So saying Diaz shouldn't play because his impact on the 2nd PP unit isn't necessarily a big deal is short-sighted imo.

No doubt this will be a tough series. But IF we play how we should I think we defiantly win this series. We have the edge in goaltending as well as defense. They may have a slight edge in offense and physicality but if we play our game this should not be a problem. I'm looking to see how Zucc and Nash perform in the players I'm expecting them to be game breakers this time round. We should win this series and if we can't we were pretenders instead of contenders!

Here's to winning defiantly! :D

Aside from being a decent PP player, what does Diaz have over Moore? I think he also works a lot better with Klein than Diaz does.

He has to sign before the season ends--that's today.

The other thing is if he does sign Philly eats a year of his ELC. That comes with future cap ramifications. So the question is would they feel comfortable putting him into their lineup in the NHL playoffs over the other guys they have and what kind of impact that will have on their team on the ice and in the locker room.

When the Rangers signed Kreider--the idea wasn't that he'd play in the playoffs. It happened because the Rangers weren't deep at forward--Boyle got injured and Hagelin got suspended (for a hit on Alfredsson) and the choices came down to 1) Kreider 2) John Scott--to beat up Matt Carkner (who'd mugged Boyle) , Chris Neil (who concussed Boyle) and Zenon Konopka or 3) a Hartford call up like Newbury. Rangers chose door No. 1.

Kreider's first few games by the way he was chasing the puck around so much that he'd come back to the bench every shift completely gassed. He eventually settled down and had quite a bit of impact on the Rangers playoffs that year but the thing was signing him and playing him in the playoffs wasn't by design. It became a necessity.

Good points but even so I wonder.

One could say that along with the Flyers physical play a guy with his skills could help off set the speed and passing of a Rangers team. It will be interesting to see what the Flyers brass does. They had a front row seat last night. So it has to be something they are considering.

I get the feeling that we will feel a deep hatred along with respect for this one as the years pass.

Diaz totally **** the bed last night, which leads me to think he's not there.

Thought he was good aside from his two OT shifts. Nearly scored. If Philly plays as stupid as they usually do, power play will be key. Having that bomb from the blueline will be nice. Moore has a nice shot too, but takes a while to get it off.

I think Diaz is better on the powerplay and at even-strength it's about a wash. That's why I lean Diaz.

Won't they have at least 1 game from the East and West each day?

NBC has a doubleheader Sunday, only one game on Saturday. They already announced Blues - Hawks as the game on Saturday so unless NBC decides to pass up Rangers/Flyers (doubtful), we'll be playing Sunday. Believe the time slots are 12 and 3 for Sunday.

The dreaded Easter Sunday afternoon game..will have absolutely no atmosphere..thanks NBC..Maybe it'll be a 7:30 NBCSN game

Philly's doing a pretty bad job showing they can play without Mason. Down 4-1 to Carolina and the game's not even half over.
