Stop going on ****ing vacation then, the Rangers are more important. You know this.

Boron pls. Amsterdam is calling me.

Gonna try to catch the games anyway heh. Any Netherlands posters can tell me if they'd show Ranger games in bars?

The Rangers have the day off again today. Practice on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Rangers have lost the last 3 playoff series to Philly. 1987. 1995. 1997. The Rangers and Flyers played almost every year in the early 1980's. The smurfs beat Philly twice. The Rangers were 1-2 against Mike Keenan's Flyers. Lost in 1985 and 87. Upset Philly in 1986. John Vanbiesbrouck was great. He won the Vezina that season. The first round used to be best of 5. That changed in 86-87. Rangers beat Philly in 5 in 1986 in Philadelphia. VBK was great against the Flyers and Caps that playoff year. The new format will see more Rangers-Flyers playoff series. This year the teams set up strictly in the division. 4 teams in each division made it. No crossover. The previous playoff format was better. Reseeding after each round. The Rangers-Flyers winner plays the Penguins-Columbus winner. The only way to get a Rangers-big rival conference final is one of the two teams being a wild card and they play the top seed in the Atlantc. Both teams come out of their brackets. One of SJ-LA will be knocked out in the first round. Same thing with Chicago and St.Louis. The Blues had a terrible finish to their season but they are still a quality team. Chicago looked bad too. Kane and Toews will be back.

The Rangers have the edge in goal and on D. Philly has better forwards. The Rangers have the better fourth line. Will the Rangers big money players show up? Rick Nash. The built in excuse is him playing left wing. I don't like him on left wing but he will be playing left wing. Columbus was a better match up for the Rangers. They have trouble scoring goals. Better goalie. The Rangers looked like crap in their last few games. They need guys like Nash to have a big playoff. Brassard saved their ***** against the Caps last year in the first round. They need more from MSL. Stepan. I love Stepan but he needs to be much better in the playoffs.

For years I have been waiting for the Rangers to be the team that puts it together and has a strong second half. Since December they have been that team.

Rangers in five.

The Rangers have better depth than most teams in the playoffs this year. Their 3rd and 4th lines are legitimate threats most nights and do a good job of turning momentum to their side. Nash and MSL need to be at, or near a ppg in the playoffs. It's that simple. They are the leaders on offense. Richards, Stepan, Kreider (when he returns), Brassard, MZA, Pouliot, Hagelin need to contribute.

Stay out of the box. Move the puck quickly as the Flyers forwards like to get in on the forecheck and go for the hit. They are the more physical team. Move the puck.

Just watched some highlights from the previous two playoff runs. Win or lose the playoffs are just ****ing exciting. As much as I generally hate Doc, he certainly makes it exciting. So many great highlights on youtube, especially the 11-12 year.

Can the Rangers turn the other cheek and play their game?

The lineup in game 1 will define a narrative pretty quickly. Do we dress Carcillo over Fast? If so, that sends a signal the Rangers are concerned about countering the Flyers' physicality, which would be a mistake IMO. It should be great for the Rangers if the Flyers are being ultra-physical because it means they dont have the puck.

There was a game in Philly earlier this year where Carcillo and Dorsett both dressed. They were the story of the game for the Rangers by consistently trying to mix things up. It led to a loss because thats simply not the Rangers' game.

Eh, I don't think it would be a mistake to dress them both. They both provide some positives. If they had a John Scott who hadn't played in 10 games and just dressed him to calm things down then I would agree.

You have to remember that this is playoffs too. Carcillo has quite a bit more experience on this stage.

Experience at what exactly? Pestering the opposition and contributing to a more physical game? Is that what the Rangers want?

I always felt like Doc is a ****ing jinx. While I'm listening to him, I know in the back of his mind he wants the Rangers to lose. Chico retired. Hopefully, Doc follows him sooner rather than later.

I assume it's because Philly is less than a 2 hr train ride. A weekend game where people can get back home at a decent hour = more likely to attend.

I don't think the wholesome and polite residents of Philadelphia would ever dream of missing their Easter Sunday service to get to a hockey game.

Agreed, I trust Carcillo more than DD to not get drawn into taking a stupid penalty.

How often does Dorsett take stupid penalties that directly lead to a loss somehow?

Too bad DD is a far better hockey player than Carcillo.

Keep Simmonds away from our goal and we should do fine..

Unless they go after Henke and Zuke...
