Rangers padding the shot total. Tons of harmless shots from the outside. Flyers with far less shots but more dangerous ones.

Rangers were quicker on the puck than the flyers but sloppier in the O Zone.

Even though I greatly appreciate Hags speed/quickness. I find he is a really dumb player especially with his decisions with the puck. I am not exactly sold that Hags will ever be able to work in a puck possession system. Fast, on the other hand, shows a very high IQ.

This. Shot totals not indicative of the first period.

Rangers won't be Emery with these kinds of chances, let alone goaltenders like Rask, Price, etc, (although Price and Bobrovsky let up some pretty mediocre goals day one).

Game plan was skating it down the perimeter, and lobbing a soft wrist shot at Emery. 2nd/3rd period we need to generate better, MUCH better, chances.

BECUZ IF WE RNT WINN1NG WE R L00SEING.

It's the same stuff all year. I'm not surprised to see it now.

I can understand if we were losing, even 1-0, people being frustrated but it's tied. We're not playing the Sabres here and even the worst team in the league, the Sabres gives teams tough games regularly.

Nash Interview Time!

Looks like Nils.

Right, but the Flyers aren't getting a ton of great chances either, in fact they're not really getting any. It was a good defensive period by both teams.

It's already here.

Only player that pissed me off in that period was Hank.

I can't even understand how, the shot hit St. Louis and deflected 3 feet in a fraction of a second. Why do you continue to think that is a bad goal?

It absolutely baffles me reading posts like this. I literally lose faith in humanity wondering how certain people can actually have opinions like this when the replay cleared showed how the shot changed direction.

The replay showed it, they announcers mentioned it, and the beat writers reported it. What else do you need?

If shot totals weren't indicative of the period, everything else was. Since, you know, we outplayed them in just about every category.

I guess Hank isn't quick twitch.

At the game tonight. 19,000 towels waving when the Rangers scored may be the most awe inspiring image I've ever seen. Just beautiful.

Even though they are professionals the players are still nervous and a little tight to start the playoffs. Nash probably just getting into the swing of things throwing the puck at the net and getting his legs under him. It might sound stupid but some of these players just need some touches and maybe a full period to lose the nerves. Second period will tell.

Well, Hags looks better with Richards and Fast. Two extremely intelligent players. It's who he needs to play with. He's just so Pejorative Slured most of the time on the ice. It's kind of a shame because if he had half a brain, he'd be an all star player.

I think the issue is that Hags has unbelievably poor think speed. He constantly freezes when he has the puck and often times seems confused as to what to do with it.

I think he is a guy who would be great on a quick defensive forechecking line. But, his offensive IQ is just horrendous.

Agreed. I said we didn't give the Flyers much.

I just don't think you can look at the first period shot totals and say Rangers > Flyers.

Flyers held off on lobbing soft wrist shots at the net. They were looking for better quality shots. Rangers didn't even look. As soon as they entered the zone it was a soft wrist shot (Nash did this on numerous occasions, with absolutely no effort to take it to the net).

We MIGHT catch Emery sleeping on one of those goals, but if we face a goaltender like Rask in net, we'd be lucky to score one goal all game.
