Give us McDavid.Vancouver weather blows.
Or no cups for another 2 decades. If the cup is guaranteed you trade anything even if it had to be 10 first round picks. Both for one cup only. You take that risk? I wouldnt.
I'll just say without commenting on value that I'm not super impressed with Byfield or Turcotte as prospects
That's part of the premise of this thread: LA seems incapable of developing elite offensive prospects. Perhaps someone else could.
It is a very signif offer worthy of consideration, tho I'd want something better than Turcotte. To Edmonton: Byfield, Clarke, Turcotte, Bjornfot, 2022 1st, 2023 1st
To LA: McDavid
Fire away
Okay, well, pivoting to "let's talk about the value", Edmonton isn't going to trade McDavid in-division where two of the top pieces are falling-star prospects.

Not even close. Suzuki is a great piece and your 2023 pick is a lottery pick so thats a good start but the other pieces are meh for McDavid.McDavid to Montreal for:
Suzuki
2023 1st
2023 1st

They would never trade him without an actual established top 6 player with upside coming back.To Edmonton: Byfield, Clarke, Turcotte, Bjornfot, 2022 1st, 2023 1st
To LA: McDavid
Fire away
I don't think "we can't develop our prospects" and "Can we have McDavid" should ever be a part of the same conversation. That's part of the premise of this thread: LA seems incapable of developing elite offensive prospects. Perhaps someone else could.
Especially when the Oilers don't have a great track record of doing so either.I don't think "we can't develop our prospects" and "Can we have McDavid" should ever be a part of the same conversation.
I included 2 prospects in there of your choice, we have very solid defence prospects that are almost guaranteed to be NHL players (Guhle, Barron) for example. Suzuki is also 2.5 years younger and will improve more, he should stabilize as a PPG 2 way centerman and he’s signed for 8 more years at $7.875 mil. You’re also getting two 1st round picks unprotected. Not even close. Suzuki is a great piece and your 2023 pick is a lottery pick so thats a good start but the other pieces are meh for McDavid.
Cash transaction are not allowed in the NHL. Partially because of the Gretzky trade as it turns out. When Gretsky was traded The then owner of the oilers was in need of big bucks and that trade included big bucks.
Now the owner is Katz, he is already rich If you want McDavid then your offer will start at a ton of drafts and prospects and that BIG FAT CHECK of about 1 billion USD CASH because Katz has a marketing cash cow ( McDavid) worth about 250 Million USD each year and he is only 25 so thats at least 8 more years at 250Million in marketing money.
You’d have to make the the 2023 1st a 2024 1st and I’d ask for a 2024 2nd back.Love Byfield but see nothing special with Turcotte (oft injured) and Bjornfot.
Byfield, Faber (or Grans), Clarke, 2022 1st, 2023 1st.
Both fanbase would scream - so it's probably within range
That’s a risk you take when you trade for prospects and picks. Hence the nickname “magic beans”. These kinds of trades never work to the benefit of the team who owns the star players rights. So you take what will help you the best long term, or you waste years off of McDavids contract by holding out for a dream trade, which will only lessen his trade return and probably make him resentful of the Oilers.None of those players from LA are guaranteed to be stars in the NHL. In fact, there's as good chance at least 2 of them will be busts.
Oh that’s right because 1000 games, 2 Cups and 2 Selkes = no skills….right! This is a hockey board.Skills.
It won't be Edmonton either after going through bums like Eberle hall and yakupov. That's part of the premise of this thread: LA seems incapable of developing elite offensive prospects. Perhaps someone else could.
Make one 1st being first overall with Connor Bedard guaranteed to the oilers. Done.McDavid to Montreal for:

You are still the best team in the league at the center position.
