Replace Quinn with Krebs. Edmonton gets a centre and Sabres have McDavid and Cozens. Peterka - McDavid -Quinn would be an exciting line.

Byfield has 2 goals total in 30 NHL games.

Turcotte isn't even dominating the AHL let alone the NHL.

McDavid isn't even like just a player, he's a massive business asset that generates tens/hundreds of millions of dollars over his playing career.

The Oilers were given a Forbes valuation of $1 billion dollars, I'd say that plummets below $700 million without McDavid easily.

You also can't divorce the history of the franchise, the Gretzky trade still lingers over the city of Edmonton, the city simply would riot if something like that was done again.

No assets currently exist for acquiring McDavid. I'm probably in the minority, but I'd rather trade an increased chance for a cup to be able to watch this guy play on my team 82 times per year. That's a lot of enjoyment. I think the cup is overrated as the ultimate hockey pleasure.

This one is laughable. If the avs offered Mackinnon and makar I take it and run right away. You basically swap top centers and now you add a young potential Norris D man on your blueline. The oilers D would be unreal. You would have one of nurse and makar out there all game. Think of pronger and Niedermayer.
