Some of the old hockey nicknames were used so regularly they became more well known than the player’s actual name. For example, King Clancy’s name was Francis, but a lot more people wouldn’t recognize him by it. Hap Day, Newsy Lalonde, Moose Johnson, Ching Johnson, Babe Pratt, Turk Broda, Toe Blake, Red Kelly, Busher Jackson, Gump Worsley, Ace Bailey. Lots of old school hall of famers.

Is the improved shot what's made the difference for McDavid compared to last season? Admittedly I don't watch a lot of Oilers games but I don't think he looks much different. Not sure as to how the supporting cast has affected this season.

His shooting percentage is up a fair bit but it's really the volume of shots he's taking as opposed to deferring for a pass. He's gotten a lot of 5 hole goals through screens and on 2 on 1s from what I've seen
