McDavid has been suspended before where Matthews has not, that plays a part in the suspension duration

3 games is about right, if it happened earlier in the game and the major saw him miss more time it probably would've been 2

Entirely expected. In Bettman’s dream world a team full of tkachuks and marchands go 20-20-42 and win the cup as a 6th seed with each game covering the spread and each player fulfilling their prop bets. Then there are 3 expansion drafts for Arizona, Atlanta v3 and another California team.

interesting, they mention his suspension history in the explanation video @ 1:15

Huh.

He should be appealing that then.

"What is a "Repeat Offender"?
A Player is considered a repeat offender for 18 months following his most recent incident that resulted in a suspension."

"It is important to note that even if a Player is not defined as a repeat offender, his past history may come into consideration when determining future Supplemental Discipline."

For all the Canucks fans coming into this topic

McDavid's got no suspension history according to the DoPS's criteria of 18 months.
According to Friedman on 32 thoughts this morning that is a fallacy. Once DOps decides to levy a suspension all previous fines and suspensions play into whether they go for a longer suspension, as a repeat offender. Said the repeat thing only applies to fines. I was under the same assumption you are.

Gary: Well we do our usual due diligence, I called up Kelly and Rob, and they thought that the Oilers were now too close to their teams, and needed to be cooled off a bit, and they wanted 5 games, so I did a poll and 100% of Cuck fans wanted a lifetime ban, so I did the Oilers and Connor a huge favor and only gave him three games. Never let it be said I don't do whatever I can for Canadian based teams.

They in fact quoted his entire 688 game history in the video. Weird.
