Had the ref's done their job, there would be two less suspensions today. The league decides to punish the players and seemingly no punishment for the referees who were seriously in dereliction of their responsibilities.

And since it was Connor McDavid (the best player on the planet) you have to make it look like there is no favouritism, and then comes the overcompensation resulting in 3 games.

The Garland cross check and Bouchard cross check are not the same, watch some ****ing Sesame Street Parros, one is not like the other.

McDavid should scrap the All Star Game and a few other things he does for the league because the league does nothing for him. It's not sour grapes, its simply they dont promote the best player on the planet, instead they promote the hell out of the earring sisters in Toronto. This team needs to take the direction the league is giving them and go with it. You want to ref like it’s the 1980s, where anything goes, then the team needs to quit being pacifist’s and sign 4-5 goons before the next Vancouver game. I don’t care if they can even skate. Line brawl right out the gate and Garland isn’t leaving the game without answering the bell against someone who he has zero chance against. When the league complains, tell them to call the game like it should. Or we as a team have to do what we can to protect our star players.

We already did this when McDavid came in, bringing in guys like Kassian and Lucic and whoever could handle themselves. Other leagues let their best players play without being handicapped. The NHL is more worried about keeping games and the standings between good teams and bad teams close.
