Garland is 4 feet tall. McDavid should have dropped the mitts and pounded him. Five minutes for fighting and it’s done.
He does. Just not in the last decade. McD wasn't even in the NHL last time Myers got in trouble I think.
Very light. Could have been 5-10 games.
The difference between Davo’s and Matthews was I think Matthew’s rode up and he was exchanging blows with Dahlin, whereas Davo was straight to the head. Slightly worse than Matthews.

Respect for this post and I’m glad you brought up Lemieux. Dumbest league in sports and it appears little has changed since Mario got mauled on a nightly basis. Most here don’t watch the games, so they don’t understand that being the best player in the game, McDavid puts up with this behavior on a nightly basis from lesser players who need to try anything to contain him and only recently has hit a boiling point after close to a decade of it.
Colour me surprised! The NHL got this one right and didn’t give McDavid the superstar treatment. McDavid's was a clear intent to injure and 3 games was the correct call.

You can argue they did considering they’ve been turning a blind eye to his rat behavior until now. Better late than never.

Feels like a 1-2 game suspension on precedence. Meanwhile a headshot is anywhere from 0-2 games typically (should be more).

Like yeah, he's an incredible player, and I have (like most people) a generally positive view of every star player in the league because they're good at hockey. But the amount of dirty nonsense, hiding behind refs, etc. is pathetic. And this isn't just anti-Oilers bias as I really like watching Draisaitl (and hate seeing him score against us).
Bingo. Perfect spot to assert himself similar to Crosby fighting Ference early on. Spotpicking is recommended for the elite of the elite.

The man has to defend himself. I don't agree with the stick work, next time he should just drop his gloves and send a message, but stars in the league have to protect themselves when the league will not do so.

Generational talent, but terrible attitude and a bad temper. He has those hissy fits and is used to getting away with it. He is lucky it was only 3 games. Could have been more easily.
The elbow alone the other game was a suspension.

Protect himself from Garlsnd? Garland was not doing anything other than getting under McDavid’s skin. He wasn’t hacking and whacking him. McDavid should have fought Garland. Cross checking him in the back of the head was (imo) a selfish move. Fight the guy. He’s half your size!
