The NHL is the only league stupid enough to allow the best player in their game to be sat on and interfered with for 10 seconds without calling a penalty when the game is on the line. McDavid should have cross-checked the ref in the face instead. It's not Garland's fault they are incompetent fools.

This game is a textbook example of what happens when terrible refereeing allows games to get out of hand. Not an excuse for either McDavid or Myers (they both deserve their incoming suspensions), but if the refs had actually called any one of the countless infractions on Garland tonight, this incident never happens. Garland reminds me of a clingy toddler who hangs onto their mom's leg everywhere she goes...

OVERALL, Vancouver is one of the prettiest cities in the world. There's a reason why it lands on so many top cities lists.
Also, why would EDMONTON fans be commenting on Vancouver LOL.

The area surrounding Vancouver is absolutely gorgeous, but you couldn't pay me enough to live in the actual city or it's suburbs.

I moved away from Canada almost 13 years ago, but if I had to move back, Calgary would most likely be my choice of cities to live in (and I write that as a former Edmontonian).

Maybe this incident changes the mentality of Edmonton organization..
Instead of getting tougher at deadline they need to get cheaper..
Pick up a guy like Garland who can just sit on Makar for 20 seconds and then draw a penalty.

Weird world we got in NHL. No other sports league would tolerate the abuse given to theur league's best player ..yet NHL just let the world hack smash freely McDavid because you can't call everything as then every Oilers game would be ten plus penalties to the Oilers. McDavid has had garland being a shit head for a minute to him. Good for him returning the fire.

The NHL refuses to call their own rulebook and then is shocked when players take matters into their own hands.

The only way inferior teams like Vancouver can contain players like McDavid, MacKinnon, etc. is to hook, grab and interfere at every opportunity. Unfortunately, the NHL generally looks the other way.
