Maybe time for HF to look in the mirror and shut this one down.

I’m not offended I’m just pointing out your error in reasoning
Most of the members are from NA, and I am sure it is a majority that don't have a problem with a forum for fighting, but the softness, and wokeness of society tries to place that burden on the rest of us. I am not actually a big proponent of fighting. I grew up watching in the 70s and 80s, but I have no problem with those who prefer to not have it in the game.

But until it is a universally banned aspect of the game, why someone has to get all up in their feels to try to get a board removed from HFBoards is beyond me. If you don't like the brutality of MMA, then don't go to their board. If you are a member of PETA, don't go to the Horseracing forums. If you don't like the fact that the NFL is brutal on the brains of young men, don't support the NFL.

People get to make their choices. I respect yours. You should respect others'.

I’m not the one advocating for the board being removed, maybe you have me confused?

Pretty soon we will all be staying indoors not doing anything. Why take the risk of stepping outside? Bad things happen outdoors.

I remember thinking when this sub-forum popped up a couple of years ago that it was a little bit of weird timing since fighting has become such a peripheral part of the game nowadays.

Personally I'm not in any camp. I don't particularly hate it, but I certainly don't love it either, but I always found staged fighting and goons to be kind of a blemish on the sport, making it a bit sideshow-ish or cartoonish, even if it can be kinda entertaining as well (in a PT Barnum kinda way) sometimes. But there's a good reason fighting often goes down in the playoffs.

Also imagine if you're watching the World Cup finals or whatever and someone is pushing the play in one direction, but suddenly the refs just blow the action dead because totally off-play some goon decided to start fist-fighting some other goon. It's just kinda..... dumb.

Some of you are too punchy in this thread. I mean, it's topic worth grappling with, but there's a lot of hitting below the belt and a few rabbit punches being thrown.

I think anyone over the age of 15 (birth year has nothing to do with it, common sense does) should be well aware that getting hit in the noggin can't be good for your long-term brain health. Same thing applies to hitting others in the noggin. Better pay than pumping gas though.

Things you can do that might help your guilt:

1. Charitable donation to CTE research
2. Last Will and Testament to CTE research
3. Letters of condolence to affected families
4. Watch less physical sports such as golf, ladies hockey, etc. and avoid watching football, soccer, men's hockey, boxing, MMA, baseball, basketball, etc.

Things that might help with your guilt but will not solve any problems:

1. Donating a few minutes of your time whining like a wokie on a free internet forum about injuries in pro sports.
I am sure enforcers are aware of the risks but that's price you pay to do what you do. Most of these guys that fight are built for it. Boxers and UFC same thing - they kill each other because they love it

I'm pretty sure this sub forum popped up about 15 years ago not just a couple.

How would shutting down this sub change anything at all? Also why
After another union member goes down. Stephan Peat. I never even heard the name before , there is a 2017 thread start for him HERE of HF. Real sad case. Yes, I'll enjoy a REAL scrap once in a while. A good clean hit is way more satisfying to me now vs 2 guys hugging for 30 seconds. There are the occasional fighters and the enforcers union, THOSE guys are the ones getting chewed up and spit out. They all roll the dice. Lotta guys in this category are rolling craps. Check out the full legit JAMA study on this employment group.

Eliminate fighting no. Better health and safety protocols - yes. These guys have the riskiest job in the league. Treat it like a insurance table. Every player and team should be upping the contribution to the fund by a 10,000% A guy needs 24/7 care?
part of the contract terms.

Woke. Or just realistic? I know nothing will happen until the NEXT class action suit comes with a harsh financial penalty that really hurts the owners,

Most important table:
Mi and Neo are heart attack and cancers, next three almost exclusive to the enforcers.

How would shutting down this sub change anything at all? Also no mention of the rampant drug addictions these players also had, that likely contributed heavily to their deaths.
The enforcer days are clearly behind us, the entire league now has less enforcers than a single team did back in the day.
