Soup is our goalie. The team in front of him was absolute crap he knew this that’s why he was arguing with Sheldon about coming out of the game. He’s got compete.

It’s ride or die with Campbell. This is the team Dubas has built so it them or nothing right now

You can't pin this entire loss on Jack Campbell. The whole team capitulated in the first 10 minutes of this game.

But I just don't see a good NHL goalie not making a big save here and there to stem the tide.

We've seen plenty of times where the Leafs have started a game with that kind of pressure and had not much to show for it. Because good NHL goalies are....well, pretty damn good.

Haven't really seen that from Campbell.

This comes on the heels of a bad slump this year, and a mediocre playoffs last year. He may be Andersen-esque in his inability to handle pressure. Gallagher's opening goal in Game 7 comes to mind. Just an inexcusable goal.

At this point, I'd rather see anyone else in net. I can't be the only one who feels this way?
You do know who our other goalie option is, right?

God no.

Jack Campbell is a backup… but he is the only NHL caliber goalie on this roster and you are either going to win or lose with HIM in net. This is not even a discussion.

I agree the 1st and 3rd goal, especially the 3rd were his fault. He alllowed 5 goals, but 3 of them weren't his fault.

I'm almost certain it's going 7 at this point. Game 5 leafs blowout. Game 6 Tampa blowout. Game 7 double OT 0-0 coin flip. That's the heart palpations we need as leafs fans
I am a Jets fan but on the Leafs bandwagon this year. I feel they have a good coach, super talent in M and M and should get out of this round based on the bolts, despite last night, being ripe for the picking. The second round will be a cakewalk compared to this one. It will be sweet to See TB lose game 6 on home ice!!

tbh I'm not loyal to any of our goalies. If Kallgren can repeat his minutes from last night he would be my choice moving forward though.

Truthfully we haven't needed highlight reel saves to save us. If we let the highlight reel ones in that Campbell stopped, and stopped the non-highlight ones that Campbell let in, this series may be over right now.

Campbell made a lot of saves in the 3rd in game 3 but aside from Stamkos robbery he didn't make any saves most other goalies can't. I think the Leafs did a very good job keeping the puck on the outside and not getting in Campbell's way with the exception of Palat's goal and whoever that player was that cut to the net.

All star and backup in one season...only in Toronto

My theory coming in to anyone that would listen
If our goalies have a save % starting with .9 or better we win the game
If our goalies have a save % starting with a .8 or worse we lose the game

My theory is 4-0 so far.

Not a chance in Hades.

Vasi vs. Campbell is already a mismatch. let's not make it worse by putting in a borderline NHL goalie in the nets.

yea probably best bet is to go with kallgren. at least he can get 2 games of playoff experience under his belt which could be useful in a few years.
