You can't pin this entire loss on Jack Campbell. The whole team capitulated in the first 10 minutes of this game.

But I just don't see a good NHL goalie not making a big save here and there to stem the tide.

We've seen plenty of times where the Leafs have started a game with that kind of pressure and had not much to show for it. Because good NHL goalies are....well, pretty damn good.

Haven't really seen that from Campbell.

This comes on the heels of a bad slump this year, and a mediocre playoffs last year. He may be Andersen-esque in his inability to handle pressure. Gallagher's opening goal in Game 7 comes to mind. Just an inexcusable goal.

At this point, I'd rather see anyone else in net. I can't be the only one who feels this way?
Ok, so I am pretty much the only one. Thanks for the reality check! Really wanted to be wrong on this one.

Honestly, I thought Campbell made a number of good saves in the first 10 minutes. That is how many chances Tampa had. He let in 3 and I thought they could have had another 2 more.

It wasn't his best night of course, but the Leafs were by far the second best team on the ice tonight.

He's not a legit starter, never has been never will be. Every Pro goalie can have good and bad stretches but the bad out weighs the good with him too consistently. He's played 3.3 games with one being a shutout and his sv % is well below .900 it's not good enough.

But he did steal the 2nd half of game 3 so who knows maybe he gets hot for 3 games.

As much as I'm not a fan of Soup...no way.

They made their choice to ride or die with Jack Campbell. There's no better option.

The only way the Leafs win the cup is if Soup proves me wrong.

There's no Erik Kallgren hero storyline here.

That said, Keefe is way too easy on Jack and too slow to pull him when he's obviously off.

He screwed up leaving him in vs MTL last season after 3 weak early goals and it turns out the softy in OT cost us the series.

He screwed up tonight leaving him in for 5 when it was obvious he was done after 3. They might have had a chance at 3 but 5 was game over.

Should tell Soup to stop flicking the puck in the middle of the Ice. Today on the second goal and I believe there was 1 more last game. He just keeps flicking it in the middle of the ice to a lightning player.

Campbell robbed Maroon. Rielly totally gave up on that play. Rebound is his job but he let Patrick Buffoon feast

That wasn't a "rob."

It was a routine play for a goalie. Guys walking across the netfront is something you practice for because it's a pretty common scoring chance.

In tight like that, all you need to do is just move across in your butterfly and the player has nowhere to go with the puck and eventually runs out of real-estate.

No one is taught to fall on their belly in that situation. It's not the 90s.

No way he should start. But give Campbell a shorter leash. This game was done off 2 bad goals in the 1st period.
This is a seesaw series. It may go 7 but I think leafs win in 6 despite tonight's game just a glitch in the matrix

Dont out in Kallgren. For his sake. He will lose all confidence. At this rate we will need him again next year.

Going with anyone but Campbell is pure insanity. I was never sure he was the answer, but Dubas bet that he was and now he's the only option. Just because your best option isn't particularly good doesn't mean you should choose something worse.

Whatever you want to call it, he made the first save. Defence no where to be seen for the rebound. Maroon even flubbed the rebound too should have been an easy stick check.

I'm almost certain it's going 7 at this point. Game 5 leafs blowout. Game 6 Tampa blowout. Game 7 double OT 0-0 coin flip. That's the heart palpations we need as leafs fans

Goalies tend to be used to defense not being around so I don't really consider that. I just focus on how Jack played it. Haha.

Dear God no. Maybe if Kallgren was Cam Ward or Jordan Bennington waiting in the wings, or what we’re seeing out of Swayman in Boston now. But Kallgren is nothing close to that, and is only here because Mrazek’s groin has been a loose noodle all year.

Keefe starts Kallgren, if Campbell is healthy and available, and I’d want to see him fired ASAP in the off-season.

If we can sit Lil for Holl I don't see why sitting Campbell for Kallgren is such a big deal. At least in this case Kallgren actually has a legit shot of getting hot and beating Campbell. Campbell has looked shaky all series it's bullshit we have zero percent chance in losses because it's either he shuts them down or implodes. It's the same crap of having no in-between. With some decent goaltending we could have swept this series by now. 3 goals against Vasi again should at least get you overtime.

Put up a 3 gaa today and suddenly Nylander and Muzzin are playoff heroes for tying the game up (especially Nylander because he punched Kucherov to go along with his 2 goals). Instead it's 5-3 and Nylander back in trade proposals.
