I have that concern as well. Or that Regier tries to save his own hide too and they do something monumentally stupid.

Just fire Ruff already. Out with the old, in with the new.

We are now in "moral hazard" territory, hopefully Black can overrule any moves that R&R might take before they get fired

How optimistic are you of that? And how would people feel about firing Ruff, riding out the season (and into a lottery pick) with Patrick, and then starting fresh in the offseason.

If the bolded happen, they could put the corpse of Mr. Rogers behind the bench for the rest of the season for all I care.

That's what I want them to do. I'd be thrilled if they went that route.

If firing Ruff now gets them the #10 pick instead of top 5 them just let him ride out the season and fire him after.

I won't cheer for losing but I'd rather them not win themselves out of a good draft slot but still suck doing it

If you want ruff fired, I don't see the point in supporting a lottery pick.

Or wanting Patrick to step in :shakehead

It's going to be a tough day for Darcy when Pegula gives him the orders to fire Lindy, I wonder if he will be able to go through with it? Maybe he steps down and leaves with Lindy, and they go on to do interviews together like in "Step Brothers" around the NHL.

Someone needs to photoshop Ruff's and Darcy's head on to here

It almost seems plausible...

He can't be here by start of next season. Year after year of these horrible slumps and the inevitable race to 9th or 10th place cannot be unacceptable to an organization that wants to win a cup.

I can deal with it until the end of the season for reasons vcv already mentioned, but it's time to move on.

I've shifted toward the keep Ruff mindset. I truly think he's awful enough of a coach to land us a lottery pick. And I truly think the fanbase is powerful enough/front office is receptive enough to fire him at season's end.

The best thing for the organization is to let Ruff continue running this team into the ground for another 2 months.

Everyone has to have a breaking point. There has to be a line, even for Regier, where he just says "this is unacceptable". If he's not at, or right at that line yet, then THAT is unacceptable.

SOME ****ING PERSON in this organization needs to stand up and say "THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE" and then ****ing do something about it. Don't just ****ing tell me but sit on your hands hoping it fixes itself.

****.

I'd rather get rid of his stupid face right now and let an interim coach continue to run the team into the ground until we get a real coach in the offseason.

Firing Ruff now would at least be a sop to the fans (players?) and provide some hope for next year. I think a lot of people (players?) are still nervous that Ruff might stay.

My only fear would be that they put James Patrick in at the interim coach and then decide to keep him full time next year.
