**** Kulikov. Only ruins the game. Bad decisions, inaccurate passes. Better Nikulin be here

speaking of this game, I don't get the whining about Russia forwards lines.

The only change, especially being down in the score, should be reuniting the SKA line from the lockout season Tarasenko-Tikhonov-Kovalchuk and adjusting the 4th as a result.

That's one player difference from the lines currently used. I don't think that's been the problem in this game.

Not sure what is supposed to be wrong with Mozyakin-Malkin-Kulemin.

That was an extremely stupid play by Medvedev to create the 5-on-3 power play! He had plenty of time to put the puck on his forehand, turn around, and easily shoot the puck down the ice! Instead, he tries a lazy backhand golf swing and sends it into the seats for a penalty. A really dumb play that creates the go-ahead goal.

Team USA is looking really good here, and barring a turnaround in the 3rd, they look like the winner today. With guys like Chudinov, Yakovlev, Medvedev and Kulikov on the ice, Russia looks like a team destined to be eliminated in the Quarterfinals.

Not sure if serious. Panarin-Shipachyov-Dadonov line is better and is actually working great.

Chudinov has actually erased a lot of chances for the US, I have little criticism on him.

Malkin owes nothing at all to the Penguins! He gave it his best all year, and if they are unhappy with his play, they should trade him. The Dallas Stars would probably be willing to trade Cody Eakin or even Jason Spezza even up for Malkin.

Why no criticism of Crosby? He was less than dominant in the playoffs himself, and yet everybody seems to be praising him for his unselfishness in being willing to join Team Canada. Huge double standard when it comes to Russians.

Because Malkin was injured? He still looks injured to me. I'm not the one paying him tens of millions of $ going forward, but if I were, I would want him to focus on staying healthy for a full season before playing for Russia.

not many penguins fans have been critical of malkin.

the outside media are pointing to crosby have 4 points in 5 playoff games and looking like he could have had a lot more where as malkin had 0 points in 5 games. Malkin also had to play with far inferior wingers.

Malkin looks bad out there. bad passes, half-assed backchecks... if the guy is injured and he's getting paid 9.5M for the next seven years, he's not smart going to a meaningless competition. a tournament he won and in which he's been the best player too...

it's the first time Crosby is going to a WC since he's been a Penguin... he has also looked way sharper than Malkin in the playoffs.

and btw, I'm not american and my favorite Penguins player is Malkin...
